(24x36) Famous Writers Poster

Great poster for the classroom. Nice variety of authors. Unfortunately it is missing Lewis Carroll. Wish they could readjust the pictures and include him.

Superb compilation of famous authors. Framed and hung in my living room.

As a language arts teacher focusing on writing, I wanted to place a poster on my classroom wall that featured a plethora of writers. While the poster itself is beautiful and glossy (I laminated it for durability), I was a bit underwhelmed by the lack of diversity in the authors. The authors are featured chronologically with many authors that my middle grade students would not be able to connect with due to the fact that these authors are several hundred years old dead authors. I should have checked to make sure there was more representation of American authors, with a diverse selection across the last hundred years. It makes a nice addition to my classroom wall, but I am hoping to replace this with a different poster that features a wide range of American authors.

I wish I could have found individual posters of some of these writers so this was me settling on a poster--it does look nice, but students would have to walk up to it to even see who is on it.

It's perfect. It has different races of current and past writers. Please laminate it so it lasts forever.

This was a gift to an avid "Classics" reader who loved it. The quality was excellent and the author assortment was ideal.

I love the poster and intend to frame and display it. I am, however, distressed that Katharine Anne Porter, Eudora Welty, Florence King, Evelyn Scott, and Flannery O’Connor are missing from the group. If choices included a male southern writer, William Faulkner, I can’t understand the omission of the women who were every bit as good as Carson McCullers, who is included. I have seen similar posters with all the above writers included. If you are southern as I am, this factor may bother you. If you are not into southern writers, then you may not even notice the omission.
