Long lasting
This bulb is amazing! It lasted us 7 months while using it 12 hours a day for our lizard. Very impressed with it and the price is a steal for something that lasted that long!

Keep my critter warm
My bearded dragon likes sitting under it and laying flat like a pancake. Which means it's doing it's job and he's comfortable.

Seems okay
Seems just okay. Does not put out much light for being "high intensity" but quality seems good. Have to wait and see about the longevity

This is amazing!
Okay, let me begin with the story of this. I requested these, because turtles -need UVB light- as do most or all reptiles. And I always used a florescent UVA/UVB lights. I never thought in my brain I'd find a LED lamp that did the same. Now, my first one that came, didn't work at all. Didn't even light up, so I requested a replacement, which was very easy, and they mailed a new one out immediately and took this to the UPS center the same day, not even in its box, with a thingy they sent me that UPS people scanned the code and printed up a label and boxed it all for me, all FREE.The second one came, and it worked perfectly, and using UVB test strips, I found out it gives off as much USB as my other lamps (if not more, I don't have one of those expensive $300 UVA/UVB machines, I just use the cheap strips that turn more purple by how strong the UVB is., but without the brightness. One turtle, named Lord Tyrannus, loved the lack of the bright light and seemed to be more happy with this one. Also, with the amazingly low wattage of it, I'm impressed. However, the ad says it doesn't work with dimmers, which is fine, I don't use dimmers. So, be sure you don't buy these based on my review if you have dimmers. As they're priced about the same as other florescent bulbs, but a lot less wattage and less brightness. I don't see any negatives in swapping to these if you have a reptile system all setup. They come in 5 and 10 UVB, as the florescent bulbs. Definitely worth the money and a five star review.

My turtle’s eyes kept swelling, pet owners beware
Originally when I got this product I thought how cool it’s LED . Then my RES turtle’s eyes began to swell. I thought it was a Vitamin A deficiency since he refuses to eat greens. His pellets are of good quality with supplements but as a new turtle owner I thought maybe it was vitamin A. I ended up healing his eye with over the counter eye drops and I switched him to Mazuri food with a sufficient amount of vitamin A. Then a couple of weeks after BOTH his eyes began to swell again after a week of otc I ended up taking him to the vet . The vet said his food was good and setup was good as well. He got antibiotics for his eyes and I was to inject him with antibiotics every 3 days for 2 weeks. I saw no major improvement I made sure to move his lights properly away check the water, I use conditioners and wanted to make sure conditions were perfect. In the morning his eyes would be better after he slept but in the evening swollen again. I ended up getting more antibiotics and more eye drops . After 5 weeks of treatment I was done with shots and stopped the drops he was much better. In 2 days the swelling started to come back. I had read in the RES forums a correlation between this type of light and eye issues. Last night I gave him his antibiotic drops again and decided to try to turn off that light and only keep his heat lamp. Well sure enough! His eyes had not swelled I’m returning the light and trying out halogen. So be mindful if there’s a change in your turtle’s eyes it could be this light. I’m so glad I turned it off and figured it out that after basking during the day his eyes would swell and obviously after sleeping they would be good in the morning.

Not very bright.
My instinct was to return it due to the minimal amount of light emitted. I am trusting the claim that it emits a sufficient about of D. The picture shows the single bulb in an unlit room. During natural daylight in the room, you can barely see emitted light. Probably not the equivalent of an old style Christmas tree bulb. I’ll keep it until it burns out, but wouldn’t buy it again.

Good source of uvb for such a small and low-wage bulb.
I must admit, I have my doubts at first. I didn't really see anyone reviewing it with a UV tester. And although my UVB cards don't show a number, they show a color level based off of the UVB output. And on the uvb cards I use a normal fluorescent or LED light, it doesn't change any colors whatsoever but with a light bulb like a 100watt MegaRay, it's about instantly turning dark purple. This light bulb turns the card a light purple/really dark pink color which means it's pretty good. The UVB seems to diffuse quickly, so the further away you have it away from your critter, the less direct UVB they will get. This light is perfect for a gargoyle or crested gecko like in my case. Virtually no heat output helps them get a decent amount of uvb without overheating them. I like MegaRay lights for creatures like a bearded dragon, and I know gargoyle geckos don't necessarily need a uvd light but in their natural environment they would receive at least some. And it makes me feel better.I would also suggest with this light bulb not to look at it directly like I did. It is not overly bright but obviously the UVB makes it unpleasant to look at.

Great
We like the new light. The light has lasted longer than the previous light. The dragon loves to lay right underneath it. Awesome
