XH 2.54mm Connectors Socket Pin Header and Ribbon Cables Wires Kit Compatible with JST-XH Connector 2/3/4/5/6/7/8 Male Pin Housing

When you need to make inline connections on JST XH connectors, you NEED this kit. Most if not all of the JST XH kits come with female connectors and Male PC Board connectors. If you are making an inline connection, you need these male connectors. They work, don't get me wrong, but I have big hands and these things are tiny. I bought the red and blue handled Knoweasy JST Crimper and the Qibaok Dupont Crimping Tool Ratcheting Crimper. They each have their benefits, but it's still a matter of getting those tiny pins into the crimper, then setting the wire in. (Definitely in that order) The Qiabok has a nice explanation of how to crimp them. I used these when I was putting a Dell Micro PC inside a classic XBox case as a retro gaming machine. I connected the Xbox case's original gaming controller ports to the USB Ports and needed JUST a little more room. So I made the two inline connectors to add just a little more length. This set has a good selection of pin counts and quantities. Buy it, keep it on hand and you'll suddenly see how many times you need it.

This is an unusual set of contacts and connectors. It is the female connector shell with male contact, for terminating wires. What could be better than a perfectly crimped set of wires? These work well.

The thing that's not supposed to exist, but should. The thing that makes using JST-XH actually plausible. It works, it's simple, and it's confounding why this isn't part of the standard.

This is a pretty nice little kit. My only complaint is the wire ribbon is quite a bit more stiff than I’d like it to be. But it’s ok, it works all the same. I see no issue with them attaching and holding as they should. This is a great kit to have on hand when you need a connector! I guess the only possible downside is the metal pins themselves are not gold plated or other higher quality and they could be a bit better.

Comes with a nice assortment of female connectors that aren't meant for PCB connections (like what normally comes in some other JST kits). Perfect for short wire situations where you need to extend the wire, but don't want to solder the wires to make it easier to take apart or change etc. Great value for the money, looks quality, and there is a lot of ribbon cable. About twice as wide as I've seen in other kits. Comes labeled so you know where everything is at a glance.

I am trying to create stepper motor wiring extension cables. I can find zero kits containing male and female 6-pin JST-SM 2.0 connectors, so I decided instead to build harnesses I can insert between the motherboard and the current motor harnesses. Those harnesses terminate in male 4-pin JST-XH2.54 connectors. This is the only kit I can find on Amazon, containing pinnable female XH2.54 connectors. Every other kit contains only pinned header versions of these connectors, which I found to be infuriatingly frustrating. The price of this kit seems a little high compared with those other kits. Hopefully, this one kit will last me for a while. A couple of the heat-shrinkable tubes are surprisingly thin-walled compared with the majority of them, but there are at least 40 "good" ones in the box.
