Max cushioning was once considered a curiosity, limited to specialized fields like ultramarathoning. Now, with its benefits recognized across a wider population of runners, max cushioning is here to stay. With the Fresh Foam More, New Balance applies their signature performance technology to an ultra-cushioned silhouette. The latest in the series, the Fresh Foam X More v4 combines the most Fresh Foam X put into a midsole to date with the smoother foot strike transitions of the largest rocker in the Fresh Foam range, a wider platform for balance between cushioning and support, and lightweight breathable upper construction. The Fresh Foam X More v4 is a total comfort experience.

Your athlete body care!
Incredible. They should market it as a restoring item for athletes and those with spine hernia, knees’ and feet ligaments issues. So amazing, that I can’t even describe!!!

The comparison you didn’t know you needed!
Bought as a cheaper alternative to the Hoka Bondi 8 since they’ve moved on to an even uglier V9 for even more money -grrr! So this will be a comparative review with my opinions, but I’ve only walked about 15 miles in the New Balance FF Max so far, so longevity cannot be assessed, but initial impression is that these will last 300-500 miles based on the selective placement of rubber, and massive foam exposure.NB Pros: Lighter, slightly softer foam feeling, narrower toe box, arguably better looking.NB Cons: greater supination (outward roll), narrower toe box (this one is in the eye of the wearer), the heel doesn’t lock-in as much, these shoes feel wider through the body to me, no pull ring on the heel to assist in putting the shoes on.Verdict: Would I buy them again? Yeah, they’re super comfortable. Would I if Hoka Bondi happened to be the same price? No, Hoka wins here, and my quest for a cheaper, better shoe continues! Damn.

Great Purchase.
I have used these for my walks and light hikes. I recommend you pick these up, it’s like walking on clouds and the shoes are very lightweight.

My NEW Favorite Shoe
First off, I'm a shoe nerd. I admit it. Growing up my Dad would buy us only 𝙏𝙃𝙀 cheapest shoes he could find. They were so bad that we'd wear them out in a couple of months and I should be honest, I am not hard on my shoes, either (my older brother was a different story). Didn't make a difference. My Dad would rather buy us a pair of new shoes for $20 every couple months rather than spend $35 on ONE pair that would last at least a year (if not more). As a result, when I finally got a job and could buy my own, I had quite a collection. A habit I continue to this day. With that in mind, within the last year I've purchased 2 other pairs of New Balance trail running shoes which were (at that time) the most comfortable pairs of shoes I had ever purchased. Since then I bought a pair of Brooks Ghost Max which replaced those as the most comfortable pair of shoes I had ever owned. The Fresh Foam X have now replaced (by a slim margin) my Brooks for sheer comfort. I don't really run, but I DO an awful lot of hiking and walking. So strict comfort is pretty important to me. These shoes are simply brilliant in how comfortable they are. The previously mentioned New Balance Trail runners were, for a lack of a better term, had almost too much cushion. I know, how can a shoe have TOO much cushion? Well, those do...at least for me. For instance, I would never wear them for weight training, especially doing the dead lift. The cushion is SO pronounced that I'd be worried they could pull me off balance a little too easily. But then again, they aren't designed for weight lifting, so just keep that in mind. The Foam X shoes are a perfect balance between great cushion and sheer comfort. It must be hard for companies to achieve that balance without going too far but Kudo's to NB for pulling it off. The soles aren't as durable as the trail runners perhaps, but oh man are they a joy to wear. Again, since I don't run I cannot speak to how stable they'd be at doing any long/short distance running but man am I happy with mine.Overall 𝙏𝙃𝙀 most comfortable shoes I own (and I own a LOT). I am VERY satisfied with my purchase.

Really Comfortable But Heavy Shoes
All in all I really like these shoes. They are very comfortable. They have so much padding and are so plush you don't even really feel the ground beneath you. However, they are a little heavy, and take some getting used to. I do slightly prefer my Hoka Bondi 8's over these. My Hokas are not quite as comfortable, but still pretty comfortable, look better and are lighter on my feet. These are really nice though. They are really nice on harder surfaces like blacktop or concrete, as you can't even really feel the surface beneath your feet. Overall, I would recommend these shoes and would likely buy them over again in the future.
