I used two 2x4, 4ft light duty fence cut to fit, 1.25 fence staples, the gate kit, 1 5/8 exterior wood screws, and 2 extra brackets you can see on the top and bottom of the left hand side to make it more ridge. I gave it 4 because I had to add the extra brackets for stability but in reality it works great and is easy to assemble.
