It's challenging but the ten minute chunks make it do-able. My favourite section reminds me of 1980s/90s aerobic classes, and the whole dvd is very uplifting. It really gets the heart rate up and leaves me feeling energised and positive.

I am the most unfit and lazy of girls - but i liked this!
This dvd was purchased as an added cardio option - I'm trying to get fitter (though, i always seem to start, falter then give up!) I have an eliptical strider that i use to get my heart rate up to burn calories/fat etc but doing that all the time is a little boring.. So i decided to try this to put a little variety into my routine! Now, i'll explain a little about myself & exercise so you can have a better insight into my opinion of this dvd - I am really, really, REALLY unfit (and not to mention lazy! hence how i have become so unfit! Also being unwell physically and mentally lead to me being house bound and falling into the most sedentary of lifestyles) so now i'm kind of over weight, in terms of BMI i'm only a little over the top end of the 'healthy' range into the overweight range but i don't carry the weight i gain very well, its never evenly distributed on my body and the extra flesh is very loose and squishy so i look awkward and it means clothes don't sit right - for example to get jeans to fit my thighs and bum they are at least 2 clothes sizes too big on my waist! so skinny jeans are a no go. And jeans with wide loose fit legs are better for me but make me look even bigger than i am. I have slim shoulders and silly twig arms but big boobs - My neck is long and narrow but i have gained a lot of weight in my face giving me cheeks and a double chin! My body is so mismatched! I haven't really exercise since school (P.E lessons) but after leaving school i was kept quite fit just by circumstance - Having no car in the family meant if i wanted to go anywhere i had to walk there, and living on the top floor of a block of flats meant LOTS of stair climbing in a day etc and i was typical teenager - loved to spend my evenings dancing around my room with a hairbrush! But then i moved out on my own and my whole lifestyle changed, not to mention the added hindrance of getting ill. So now, present day, I lack motivation to exercise but once i start i quite enjoy it and get into it and can do what i planned without giving up, but i tend to be impatient and want results faster than is realistic etc. I'm not coordinated. And i'm pretty awkward and clumsy! I definitely recommend watching this dvd through a couple of times first, just to see what your in for and to get the gist of it - i put it on expecting i'd be able to just do it all right off the bat (more fool me) - Soon realising this wasn't going to be the case i decided a better (and more sensible) strategy would be to focus on one or two segments and learn those ones first, because the whole dvd is fast paced and you really need to know what move is coming next - So its not only a work out for the body is a memory work out for the brain! I chose to focus on the Cardio max segment and the Rapid results kickboxing segement - these two appealed to me most - I'd watch it through once and then attempt to do it; and the first few times i was dreadful! And this for me was frustrating! But i told myself if i gave up then i'd never get it, so it really is just like anything, if you stick with it, you will get the hang of it! Even now i can still stumble on some of the moves, i do still need to concentrate and focus. Now, like i said before i am a little over weight and i dont think this dvd would suit some one who is very over weight - some of the moves could be too much (you do have to pounce around and lunge about quite a lot) if you have a lot of extra weight it could be to hard to maneuver yourself to follow this dvd especially at the pace it goes, it could be really hard on the joints.. i lost just over a stone before getting this dvd, i don't think i could of managed it at all if i hadn't lost that weight and even now i still notice the annoying and hefty pull of bum fat as i force it to defy gravity! and also the dreaded 'thigh-clap' thing happening and this sound, for me, is soul destroying! But also serves to remind me of why i am doing this! So i'm getting the hang of these two segments, after few weeks i really noticed my legs were a little bit slimmer but much more toned and just stronger in general, so now i'm practising the other segments, the extreme intervals is HARD! but i think once i've got the hang of it it will give me good results (in learning the routines and really getting them down i quite like the idea of my co-ordination and re-flexes improving as well as my fitness improving) I look forward to being able to do that one successfully as i think the technique in that one of having the moderate intensity exercises teamed with a short fast burst of the same exercise at an intense level will really burn fat fast!! The last two segments left i have watched and in all honesty i dont really like them. I will try to learn them, just so i can think to myself i have conquered the whole dvd but they don't really appeal, Power sports drills just feels a bit like an amatuer dramatics lessons - Pretending/miming football kicking actions, rugby 'hustle' moves and things like that. Feels a little silly. And the Low impact fat blaster is far too fiddly in terms of choreography, lots of weird little steps crossing over and going round and i really cant see that it 'blasts fat' (as its title would suggest) in anyway. Maybe it'd be good for like a warm up or something but to me, it just remind me of when you'd see on tv old ladies doing dance aerobics classes in the late 80's being lead by some over the top neon lycra clad instructor or something!! Again just feels silly and a bit pointless. Also, for this segment, if you are limited on space (as i am - i live in a pokey one bed flat) its nearly impossible, even when i have moved all the furniture i still run out of room to follow the sequence. All the other segments are just about do-able for me if all the furniture is moved to one end of the room (and that in itself is a pretty good work out!) But three out of 5 segments isnt bad considering thats 30 minutes of good fat burning cardio. After the work out (even just doing one segment) the next day you will feel it, the ache will be a bit tedious but also good because you will know you have pushed those muscle out of their comfort zone! Its quite rewarding in a weird way, just like when you have being doing the workouts and notice that you don't actually ache or seize up as much as you did say, 3 weeks ago. The instructor is nice, she's up beat and cheerful - not annoying or cringey - through it all. Safe to say i'm not quite so peppy once i've gotten through it! Red faced and sweating possibly even swearing - yes. Chipper and smiley... Not so much! i'm kidding (well, half kidding!) All in all this is a good dvd, not amazing, but good enough. worth the money. And lets face it, doing any movement that gets your heart rate up is improving your fitness and is better than being sat on a sofa! i wouldn't say its for a new comer to getting fit (especially when you have high and unrealistic expectations of being able to just jump in and to be able to do it all immediately - admitadley this was me!) and its probably not something gym bunnies and very fit people would want, it may seem a little pointless to them - i'd say its suited for people like me, have noticed an improvement in their fitness, wish to increase cardio vascular fitness further, get used to following dvd routines, wish to improve hand-eye-body co-ordination, and lack the money/confidence to attend a gym. All in all, i'm pretty happy with it. i look forward to really getting the hang of it and really seeing and feeling some improvements to both my fitness and body. i do believe teamed with healthy eating and a few other exercise habits added (more walking, toning exercises etc) noticeable results will be achieved. Wish me luck! :)

Purely cardio, great for fat burning
I have lots of these 10 minute solution DVDs and I eagerly awaited this new one. New it certainly is! This is a back to basics, modern, equipment free cardio DVD. If you are looking for a workout with brand new moves this would be a good choice. All the sections are doable even for beginners as you can do 1 section and build up. The instructor is very friendly, upbeat and fit looking. She presents with clear instructions. However, I stumbled around a bit at first with this DVD, but I think this was because there were so many new moves and you have to move quickly. It is certainly one to build on and work up to. POWER SPORTS DRILLS This section uses exercises based on sports drills from football, skiing and volleyball. In the volley ball you had to pretend you were aiming to hit the ball in the net - so lots of jumping! This section will certainly get you fit. I really enjoyed it and alongside the cardio mix this was my favorite. EXTREME INTERVALS Get ready to push it to your limits - but only for a limited time! You'll alternate 15 seconds of high intensity exercise with 15 seconds of recovery moves. LOW IMPACT FAT BLASTER I didn't like this one as it so low key and a bit dull. However, it is good for a warm up for the other sections. . RAPID RESULTS KICKBOXING Lots of punching and kicking to lose fat. Again, a bit boring. Not my favourite, but if you like kickboxing you might enjoy it. CARDIO MIX Improve your overall fitness level as you work to increase fat loss. You'll start with simple but effective cardio moves and then increase the intensity. This was my favourite as it was of a higher level than the other sections. Lots of moves I really like such as lunges and jumping etc. I was really puffed out afterwards, so, hopefully, more fat burning! The good thing about this workout is that it gives you 2 x 5 minutes of different programs. I intend to use my favourite sections from this DVD and mix it up with sections of my other favourite 10 minute solution DVDs: 10 Minute Solution: Blast Off Belly Fat [DVD ], 10 Minute Solution - Belly, Butt And Thigh Blasters,[DVD] [2009 ], 10 Minute Solution - Pilates Perfect Body, [DVD ], 10 Minute Solution - Quick Tummy Toners [DVD] [2008 ] - its a good thing to do as I never get bored.

10 Minute Solutions - Fat Burner
A great cardio workout. After the first 10 minute session my heart rate was up and I felt like I'd actually had a good workout which spurred me on to another couple of sets. Love it.

Load of Crap!!!
Please don't waste your money, people. This is a very boring and tedious dvd. The instructor is really irritating and is doing the dvd with half a ton of make-up on her face!! Just as you start to get into a section it comes to an end so you feel you've hardly achieved anything. I find that's the problem with these 10 minute solution dvds. If you really want a good work out then buy Jillian Michaels, Claire Nasir, Hannah Waterman or Jennifer Ellison. Then you really will get a good workout. Their is no stomach section in this dvd either, which is very disapointing. I know you have to work on the blasting the fat first, but you need a seperate section to work on the definition. With the dvds I've recommended you will get that, as well as a brilliant workout!!

Good DVD
I bought this DVD when I first started working and was pretty happy with it. For those looking for somewhere to start their workout journey, this DVD is a good option. At first it takes some getting used to but once you know the routines its a lot easier. You can do as much or as little as you like due to each workout only being 10 minutes long and you can pick and choose which you want to do and in what order to best suit you. I no longer use this DVD though as I don't find it challenging enough anymore, so I would definitely say it is more suited to beginners. All in all it was a good purchase.

Not so fun.
The exercices are ok but, I don't know why, I don't have fun with this. Except for the third 10 minutes training which is an aerobic dance and the music is good on this one but for the rest of the trainings, it's a bit boring. Something missing...

fast and furious ;)

Solid, Straight-Forward Cardio Workout
I really enjoyed this workout. It is straightforward (intervals, aerobic moves, kickboxing, etc.), but with the mix of skills, it doesn't get boring. The instructor has a pleasant style and is easy to follow. I got a really good workout doing all five sessions, but three would also have done the trick.

An athletic, high intensity workout
I got this DVD expecting and wanting 50 minutes of high cardio workouts that would give me a fantastic workout. While the cardio was definitely there throughout all of the segments of the DVD, I just felt that some of the exercises were too repetitive/boring and the instructor Catherine (Cat) Chiarelli was way too fake. It felt like to me Cat was just forcing a smile on her face and not really enjoying the workout. She also seemed incredibly cheesy in some of her comments, which I usually don't mind yet found strangely annoying here. She also doesn't explain the movements well. She will tell you this complicated title of a move (example: we're going to do a jump on a diagonal plane) when in actuality it's not as hard as she makes it to be. There is virtually no break-down of the moves by Cat, which I personally like, but other may find it hard to follow along. Finally, sometimes Cat's technique wasn't correct, and I just found it odd that they would release the DVD with her doing some moves improperly. Still, I really enjoyed the 5 workouts included. Each of them, like in all the "10 Minute Solution" DVDs, was 10 minutes and focused on a different type of cardio. I thought that each segment had a fantastic warm-up and cool down, which is sometime lacking in the "10 Minute Solution" DVDs. Here is an explanation/breakdown of each: Power Sports Drills - This was one of my favorite routines as Cat took moves from sports, such as soccer and basketball, and put them into cardio combos. You start with about a 2 minute warm up before moving on to a soccer dribble (basically a shuffle), a soccer kick, a lunge forward with a volley ball bump (a short swing of the arms), and a volleyball spike. You then do some basketball prepares and throws, some hockey blocks (lunges to the side), and some skiing (jumping exercises done side-to-side, forward-to-back, etc.) Finally, you get to do a cool down. Extreme Intervals - This was another of my favorite segments on the DVD; the idea behind it was that you would do a high cardio move, then a lower cardio move, and you would continue to alternate them. After a warm up you start with a type of jump squat, which you do 16 of before doing 8 slow squats and repeating. Next, you high knees with jumps before doing some slower knee lifts and repeating. Third are some lunging forward jump split-squats (lunges forward) and slow lunges forward. The next move are fast then slow skaters. Next are some jump squats diagonally, first done quickly then slowly. More knee lifts with jumps come next along with some jump ropes. Finally you do a jump side-to-side (like you're jumping over something) with a V-step. You finish with a cool down. Low Impact Fat Burner - This section was the least athletic of them all, because it has more of a dance feel with it. Cat constantly says that these are old-school moves that you should already know, but I'll leave it up to you on whether or not you know the moves. After a warm up, there are two routines; the first is made up of a step step triple step with a swivel, knee lifts with punches and slides, step tap and leg lift, and a squat kick and lunge. The second routine has these moves: grapevines, kicks, V-steps, taps with punches, hamstring curls, more kicks, and lunges. You take each routine from the top several times, so it can get a bit repetitive. You finish, once more, with a cool down. Rapid Results Kickboxing - This segment is made up of several kickboxing combos, which are all fun and surprisingly original. You start, of course, with a warm up before starting the first combo which is composed of a knee strike then jabs and punches (two types of punches). The next combo is a shuffle to the side with jabs then uppercuts; and the next combo is made up of squat pulses with side kicks. Combo number four is made up of a step touch step jab 3 times, 4 jabs, 4 more punches to the corner, and knee strikes. You then add speed bags (rolling arms) to the end of that, and you're done (after a cool down, of course). Cardio Max - The theory behind this workout is that you take regular cardio moves and bump them up a notch to make them even more effective. I also noticed that a lot of upper body is incorporated to add to the moves. A warm up is done first before you start routine number one. The moves included are: triple steps with jumps, step touches, V-steps (running and jumping them), knee lifts with jumps, and lunges with jumping jacks. Routine number two is a bit more innovative with moves such as the following: back leg lifts and knee lifts, jumping a box shape, some fast runs, side lunges and jump squats, and hamstring curls with jumps. After yet another cool down, you are done. You can customize your workout by playing the workouts in any order that you wish. Overall, I really enjoyed the workouts, for the most part; although I do feel that there was a bit too many moves repeated such as knee lifts, squats, and kicks. I think there could have been a little bit more variety. Also, I'm not a big fan of Cat's personality, although I do realize that it's just my personal opinion; others may love her. I'd definitely recommend this to intermediate/advanced exercisers looking for a very high impact, all-cardio, athletic workout.
