A Stellar Telescope for Beginners and Enthusiasts Alike!
I’ve been using the Pie Matrix Helix 130/650 EQ telescope for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Whether you’re just starting your journey into astronomy or looking for a reliable grab-and-go scope, this model delivers excellent value for the price.Pros:• 🔭 Bright & Clear Optics: The 130mm aperture captures an impressive amount of light, making lunar and planetary viewing sharp and detailed. Saturn’s rings and Jupiter’s bands are clearly visible, and the Moon looks absolutely stunning.• ⚖️ Equatorial Mount: The EQ mount is a game-changer for tracking celestial objects. It takes a little time to learn, but once you get the hang of polar alignment, tracking is smooth and effortless.• 🔧 Build Quality: Solid construction with a stable tripod. It feels well-built, with smooth focuser knobs and a steady mount that doesn’t wobble even at higher magnifications.• 👁️🗨️ Accessories Included: The included eyepieces are decent for starters. I recommend eventually upgrading for even better clarity, but they’re good enough to get going right away.• 🧭 Portability: Despite its power, the 130/650 is compact and fairly lightweight, which makes it easy to transport to dark sky locations.Cons (minor):• 📖 The manual could be more detailed, especially for beginners who are new to equatorial mounts. But there are plenty of YouTube tutorials that can help bridge that gap.Overall, I’m thrilled with the Pie Matrix Helix 130/650 EQ. It offers powerful optics, a sturdy EQ mount, and a great balance between usability and performance. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore the night sky seriously without breaking the bank!

Good for beginners
This is my first time to start with a telescope. I choose Pie matrix over celestron because I found this to have more value for money as well as for the objective that it is home made!1. All the required components were received as described in the sales leaflet.2. I tested the telescope for terrestrial objects and some sky objects. I faced some challenges initially in understanding the use of lenses and eye pieces but it worked out. Living in Gurgaon doesn't allow you to stargaze properly because of excess light pollution. Need to test again in dark sky location.3. Based on the testing, the lenses have good and clear viewing quality. The mount and movement is smooth as well as balanced.4. The carry baggage is of very good quality to carry all the components effortlessly.5. There were very small bumps on tripod stand but the quality is good and sturdy.Suggestion: Pie matrix should put some detailed videos online. I found 2 for setting up the telescope by there wasn't any for using the telescope. Pie matrix should put some detailed videos of specific viewing in the sky. Example, observing the moon, observing a distant planet, observing a deep sky/ nebula. By detailed i mean which lens to use, lens comminations, how to use red dot (I still don't know what the two spins used for). I also don't understand know why there is a smaller hole on the cap of the tube (is it like for specific viewing or aiwee).Overall, 4 out of 5. If you are beginner. Go for it, as it is value for money with good quality. Once experienced, then one can go for computerized telescopes.I'll add photos/ update this review once i have some dark location to stargaze.

Excellent Experience !
I wanted to buy a telescope to encourage the science bent-of-mind in my son as well as because observation of stars, planets, etc. is fun.I ordered this telescope after looking at various videos on youtube which suggested that Reflector styled telescopes are easier to maintain. Telescopes with glass lens will be fragile ie extra care, has to be taken. The delivery was timely and the instructional videos provided by PieMatrix on their youtube page are pretty adequate for a person with some experience of handling scientific equipment - my engineering background helped here :). My son and I were able zero in on the moon and it was amazing !But during the process, we observed that there were some glitches that made the process inefficient i.e. time-consuming.The support from Piematrix saved the day - they arrange a one-on-one online session, at a time of my convenience with an expert to guide my son and me through installation process and best practices. The significance of each part was explained very well. This has improved experience vastly as we can zero into objects quickly.Additionally, the moon filter, missed in the original shipment was immediately replaced with a minimum fuss.I would really recommend getting this telescope from Piematrix as they go above and beyond to ensure that they meet their promises (and achieve COMPLETE customer delight in the process).
