However, online references or videos need to explain how to prepare dough rolls into even cylinders. It would be valuable if an additional video showing this was available to demonstrate how to make dough rolls that aren't flat on the bottom after chilling.Unfortunately, the Cookie Cutting Thickness Scale isn't dishwasher safe, and customers are advised to wash them in cold, soapy water. I expect to use these thickness scale tools for various baked goods. My rating for this specialty cookware is four stars for the reasons explained.

These are great! You can put them right on top of the dough and lightly press to make an indention to cut on. No more eyeballing sliced cookies or getting a ruler (and being laughed at by whoever is in the kitchen! lol) to make uniform cookies and other sliced baked goods. Easy to clean. The scales seem sturdy enough and look like they should last many years if cared for.These would also be good for kids to use with Play-Doh or various craft projects.Recommend!

I keep frozen cookie dough in log form in the freezer. These are sturdy and easily mark dough and easy clean up. I only use 3 of the ruler for my usual slice cookie. I am using several of the markers when crochet edge on baby blanket.

Designed to be placed alongside cakes and breads or on top of logs of dough, they provide an accurate slicing gauge and are much easier to use than a ruler. I can see myself using the guides for cutting uniform slices with everything from vegetables to meatloaf! I also have plans to use these for spacing even lines and designs on hand decorated cookies. These need to be hand washed with cool water. Like many plastic cookie cutters, they will warp when coming into contact with hot water.At a price of only $7.99, these will more than earn back their cost in time saved and less frustration for those of us who are challenged with spatial issues.

This is a specialty-use product, most useful to get uniform cuts in dough and make roughly-equal portions quickly without having to weigh them. The ten templates are well made, heavy-duty plastic. They are all about 150mm (6") long, more or less. They cover a good array of cutting sizes from 50mm (just shy of 2") down to 3mm (a bit over 1/16"). The first thing that I did was toss the templates into the dishwasher and I can confirm that they are dishwasher-safe (there were no instructions provided).The templates do make it easy to divide dough into uniform portions simply by pressing the templates into the dough and then making cuts on the indents.One reviewer commented that they can be made more easy to read if the numbers marking the sizes are highlighted with permanent ink. In addition, it would be helpful if the manufacturer had provided a box to hold the templates together. As it is, after the cardboard-and-plastic packaging wears out, I'll probably put a rubber band around them, but I wish that there'd been a better solution provided. Still, if uniform portions are important in your baking and you do not wish to weigh each piece of dough, then I would recommend these templates.

I mostly use them to portion out cookie dough, though sometimes I use them for cheese or other savories. The smallest sizes are less useful to me, but I’m glad to have them just in case. These are not an absolute necessity — I’ve been using a ruler for years to measure portions — but these make portioning so quick and easy. I recommend them.
