Very good pair of running shoes. Nice fit. Montrail is a good brand of footwear.
The Montrail womens Fluidfeel II running shoes are a great buy. They are very comfortable, and they are great for running or walking. Montrail is very good brand. The shoes fit well for me, and they are very comfortable. They provide decent support for me on my feet all day. I have always had good results with the Montrail brand shoes and boots in the past. These running shoe breath fairly well. they feel light on my feet for me. I've never had any problems with the bottom of the shoes or any of the fabric being a problem. The lacing feels good, and I like the color combo that I purchased.I enjoy trail running, and running on uneven surfaces, and these shoes do a great job for me with impact and comfort. They feel very good on flat surface running as well. I like the fact they are more trail running shoes than concrete or street running shoes for the material construction and the traction and cushion on running paths, dirt and gravel. Each persons foot is different, so trying them and using them is really the best way to know if the shoe is great for your needs. Putting them on is a start to get a general idea on fit, but application is always the best telling factor. Most runners go through a few pairs until they find the right pair, and use the other shoes for casual wear to the gym or for walking.I was able to get these at a good price on Amazon, and I have Amazon Prime and have the 2-day Free shipping so I did not have to pay for shipping for the order which is nice. I recommend these shoes because the Montrail brand is good, the shoes are very comfortable and fit well and the price was good for me. If you can get them at a good price, buy them. But even at regular price, the shoes are worth it.Montrail is part of the Columbia Sportswear brand of companies. They were acquired by Columbia Sportswear awhile back in 2006.

Anyone else had this concern?
I have not worn them outside yet, because I may have to return them. They seem to come up too far on my ankle bones and I'm concerned that they will rub blisters. Not sure what to do, I really can't tell for sure if I can't actually "try them out", but don't want to be stuck with them if they do cause blisters. I'm only giving them 3 stars for this reason. If I decide to "run with them" and they turn out to be okay, I will update.

They are very comfortable and have a good grip to run in gravel and dirt.

Montrail isn't what it once was :(
I used Montrail shoes for over 10 years!! I loved how comfortable they were and how long they lasted! (I could wear a pair of shoes for about a year). I put tons of miles on them. I used them to work in a greenhouse, workout at the gym, hike, walk, as kickarounds; I wore them all the time! I stocked up on the style I liked when I heard Columbia was buying out Montrail. My stash recently ran out. I purchased four different pair to check them out and I'm so, so disappointed! I wore holes through the outside toebox in less than a month. They aren't very cushiony after a month of use either. All four pairs I have seem to be lacking the quality that Montrail had when it was a small-ish company. Now that they have been bought out the shoes are awful. I'm sad that I will be on the hunt for a great shoe again! I have nothing against Columbia clothing....but they should stay out of the shoe business.

Too hard on my feet
They are too hard on my feet. My feet feel constricted.I should probably have ordered an even bigger size. They are pretty rigid so I am not sure that would have made a difference. It totally rubbed my toes wrong and had to stop using them altogether.

Great running shoes
I was looking for running shoes that would work well on asphalt, forest trails, and sand, for daily 6-7 miles runs in warm weather. In the past, I always had Nike, but couldn't find an affordable replacement now, so after doing some research and seeing those at a very affordable price for Prime Members, I decided to try Montrail as all terrain shoes. So far, I am very pleased with them: they provide good ankle support, soles are at once thick, sturdy, and flexible, and they really work well on different terrains (not slippery at all). They fit snugly, a feature I love, but if you are between sizes, go for the larger one. I don't use these shoes for walking or spending long hours in them at work, so can't really speak to how well they would perform, but as a former hiker I think they would be good for hiking as well (except that they get dirty easily).

Very comfortable shoes! Love the color
Very comfortable shoes! Love the color! I have about 25 pairs of pink running/walking shoes and these are one of the most comfortable shoes that I own.

What started out a great pair of shoes turned a little disappointing...
These shoes are wonderful. I spent a long time browsing to try and find a great pair of shoes and I took a chance on these even though I've never owned the brand before. Walking or running on pavement, over gravel and rocks, whatever, I don't feel it. Where my old shoes made sure I knew I had a large rock under foot, as it hurt, these shoes would laugh at such things if they were able.Couldn't ask for a better fit: I usually wear a 7, and do have more narrow feet, and I ordered a size 7 and they fit perfectly. I actually checked with Runner's World, prior to ordering, to compare them to a pair of my older shoes to ensure size accuracy.Probably my only dislikes so far is that the grip setup for the top half of the bottom of the shoe allows for rocks to get semi-easily stuck in it. It doesn't cause any discomfort to my feet, but the sound of rock on pavement is annoying. That said, it's pretty minor.Edit 10/19/15 - The mesh just hasn't held up and already has a hole in the top of the toe area. Given that it took a year for that to occur with my old Nike's, this was really disappointing after only three months. I've changed the rating from a 5/5 to a 3/5 due to this. I probably won't try another pair, which is sad because they're still comfortable.
