Check the size.
I was looking for a replacement for my Retro51 pencil which I'd had for quite a few years. Sadly I didn't read the description closely enough as this pencil is quite a lot bigger than my original one. Means it doesn't fit as well on my diary/journal

A beautiful pencil, let down by the lead
This is one handsome pencil. I love the shape of it, the Einstein formulae on it and the 'vintage' look on the exposed metal parts. I also like the weight of it and the decent-sized rubber on the end.I am not so in love with the mechanism. The twist-advance is fine, but I find putting fresh leads in awkward, and they often just drop out, probably because I am loath to press as much as is needed. On the subject of the leads, what kind of a size is 1.15mm? I would have preferred to use a darker lead (2B) but have been unable to source any at this diameter in the UK, and even HBs are not easy to find.

One of the best pencils, especially for math/physics nerds
This is my 6th purchase of the Einstein pencil. I have given away 5 as gifts over the last couple of years and decided to get one for myself too. The choice of gifting this has to do with the pencil as much as it has to do with the way it is packaged. It comes nicely ensconced in a cylindrical box that is wrapped in plastic. The pencil, along with extra lead and erasers are inside the box. The pencil is encased in another easy to remove plastic wrap inside the box. (I removed the outside plastic and the price tag before gifting).Let me first get the obvious stuff out the way: it is a super nerdy and yet elegant looking pencil. Supposedly, it has the proof of E=MC^2 scribbled on it. I have not verified this step by step yet but I will do so and update this review later if I have anything specific to add. Even if people don't ask to take a look at it, they always smile once they see me take it out and begin writing with it.In terms of use, this is a typical Tornado. In my experience, this means exceptional craftsmanship as well as performance. A little on the heavy side, the pencil has a solid feel to it. It is exceptionally well balanced and reliable. I have used it in the Board Room to taking notes in classes to just some good old school writing in my journal. The eraser is of a very high quality, and works very well on standard notebooks and paper to erase the thick lead from the Tornado.Overall, I could not recommend this pencil more to anyone.

Stylish writing at any anagle
This is my third purchase of a Retro 51 Pencil because I love choices in the stylish presentations, the substantial but balanced feel of the pencils in my hand, the solid line made by the wider than average lead refills and the way you can write at any angle. Very handy for a keen puzzle doer such as myself.

Retro 51 pencil …works
My ordered Retro 51 pencil in the Einstein motif is decorated with his mathematical works that showed carefully constructed craftsmanship. The pencil came with extra lead and erasers that fit this kind of pencil. The lead is 1.1mm thick, not common for the pencil market, but it does not break due to the size. Generally, it’s a good writer and fine instrument for daily work.
