Excellent Quality Creating Exceptional Value
During the pandemic isolation, we did what pretty much what every other single-child family did and brought a Doodle into the family so he'd have SOMEONE to talk to besides his parents. And like everyone else, we quickly learned about the variety of allergies and sensitivities that doodles exhibit. After some elimination diet experiments and talking to vets & owners as well as studying our particular doodle combination (He's an English Setterdoodle), we determined that while not an allergy, chicken created a lot of issues for him. Grains didn't seem to be an issue, though gluten might have been.I experimented with several products during the first year, doing my best to ignore the price point until I figured everything out. So I tried the lower end and the 7-figure-demanding brands. The dog wasn't too picky, he pretty much accepted what was offered but there were significant differences in:1. Frequency of Meals (sometimes 3x/day)2. Quantity of Eating (full bowl devoured each time)3. "Quality" of stools (often loose, frequently eye-watering stinky, and several a day)4. and strangely, condition of the grass in his favorite peepee spots (burn, baby, burn)I went into a local family-owned pet supply store and was told about this brand. She said it's as close to Farmina (the incredibly expensive and ultra high quality due to Italian export requirements) as it gets but at a much more affordable price. So, I tried it.And I'll never ever change.I got the Leaping Waters brand because of the Doodle-ish issues as well as the stool experiences during the prior year. The results are amazing. Compared to the above, here are the results of this productL1. Frequency of Meals (once a day - I fill his bowl each afternoon )2. Quantity of Eating (He NEVER grazes, rarely digs in. He eats when he's ready and takes his time, usually eats 3/4 of the bowl and then finishes it off an hour later)3. "Quality" of stools (one or two a day - very well formed and easily passed, rarely stinky)4. and strangely, condition of the grass in his favorite peepee spots (green green grass most of the time)It's absoutely NOT cheap but I spent a lot of time analyzing this. I give him a bowl a day, it's all he wants and needs. The bag lasts between 5-6 weeks. His coat is beautiful and glossy and there are no other problems, other than his insistence on stealing my shoes. Other brands were $15+ less but I went through twice as much and it didn't have nearly the same amount of protein or nutrition. My dog is a 62 pound English Setterdoodle

My dog LOVES this food
I adopted a five year old Boxer mix from the shelter this Summer. After struggling over the Summer with his coat quality, lack of interest in his food and inability to fill out I ran into an employee at a local pet store who knew him from before and found out he has sensitivities to corn, wheat, soy and chicken. This information wasn’t left with the shelter so it was nice to find out! I started doing research and ended up trying out this food for a variety of reasons, price, ingredients and quality were better across the board than comparable options. His coat is softer and less bristly, he has filled out and he absolutely LOVES this food. I couldn’t be happier! Iams is half the price per pound but I am so glad I have found this because it works SO much better for him and is gentle on his stomach too. It’s been over a month already and with a 12 day gradual switch he has had no issues. Thank you Solid Gold!

Low in fat content!
I’m happy that it fairly low in fat for my pancreatic dog.

We love the brand
We've fed our dogs one brand or another of Solid Gold since it's been on the market. They're healthy, active dogs with good skin and coat condition. A new adoptee has gastro issues and Solid Gold Leaping Waters for Sensitive Stomachs stopped a bad problem with diarrhoea and weight loss. He did develop weapons-grade gas but most importantly he's gaining weight. The aroma of this food is more of an odour but not horribly unpleasant.

Changed Our Dog's Life
We have an 8-month-old golden retriever that has had diarrhea issues from about 6 months on - constantly. The past few weeks he's had watery, bloody diarrhea, which was so concerning we had to get an ultrasound and blood tests - which showed nothing of concern. In a last-ditch effort, we thought to try a small bag of this - thinking he might be allergic to chicken (he'd already been on grain-free before to no avail), well, he's having the best poops of his life. Honestly, it feels weird to be this excited about my dog's poop, but I can't help it! He had been losing weight instead of growing, and now he looks so healthy - his nose was pink and it's turning back to fully black. If I could give every dog in the world a bag of this dog food I would. It would have saved us so much money in vet fees if we had used it from the jump, so I hope this review saves someone else the stress and money! Get it now!

My picky pomeranian loves this
My picky pomeranian loves this. Kobe struggles with liking anything and has the most sensitive stomach. This is the only food he loves that doesn't make him sick.
