Very fun book
I really like this book, probably not for anyone that want realistic artwork, but it is a book that will explore proportions in faces and for people that want to be creative. If I want something that exactly like a face I would copy a photo this book let's you utilize your individuality and create something fun

A MUST HAVE BOOK FOR EVERY SEWER AND EMBROIDERER
Wow, wow, wow, is this a great book!!! The author, Melissa Averinos is crazy talented and goes through step after step showing the reader how to draw faces and little accents to add that make all of the difference in the world. I love her style of drawing and sewing/quilting. There is A LOT in this book!!! The faces that Melissa draws are very different but now weirdo different. I originally was going to buy this in the Kindle form but wisely decided that the paperback would be a much better choice. If you are sitting on the fence about buying this book, jump off the fence and go and order it right now. You will be thrilled with your purchase.

hermoso libro
libro hermoso e inspirador que va guiando a quien lo lee desde los primeros trazos hasta laconfección de un retrato en collage textil. aunque lo compré de segunda mano y con un vendedor externo, llegó antes de la fecha prevista y en excelentes condiciones.

A great "skill builder" book
If you are looking to build your skills in textile portraits, this is an excellent primer. This isn't a "project a chapter" book - the author takes you through understanding the structure of faces, how an artist interprets this, and then how to move to a more abstract representation, which can be translated into fabric. There are numerous, disparate examples of how this is put into practise by student's who have taken the author's classes, as well as a wide range of examples from the author herself. A great launching point of inspiration and techniques...

Making Faces
This is such an inspiring book; the author takes you from the basics of how to draw a face- proportion, hints for creating realistic features - then moves on to show you how to replicate them in fabric. From glue-on collage to sewing, there are many tips, projects and a gallery of works by her students. On my list of things to attempt!
