Big results from a small camera
Small package with big results. Order 2 of these cameras and installed in the foyer of our church. They are small and most people do not even notice them. They were easy to install and adjust. These are POE cameras and takes a little network knowledge to complete installation. Camera has a great image and has provided the security we needed. Camera were easy to add to our system.

Phenomenal image quality, easy to install. Best security camera I've ever used.
Easy install and setup, very wide field of view, and absolutely incredible resolution and image quality. I have mine paired up with an Amcrest NV4116E , and it was instantly recognized and displayed. I have this vandal-resistant dome camera on my front porch, watching over my front door. My previous "wide angle" security camera placed in the same location could see the front stoop and 3 steps leading up to it. This camera however, sees the entire stoop, all six steps, a 30 foot walkway, and half of the front yard; all in exceptional detail. If I (hopefully don't) need to use footage to identify someone, it would be absolutely no problem with this camera. Without exaggeration, I can count the leaves on a boxwood plant that is ~25 feet from the camera; the image is *that* sharp.I absolutely love this camera, and will certainly be buying many more from Amcrest in the future. That being said, this product is not really for the average joe. In order to have this working well, and installed properly, you'll need to have moderate DIY skills. Being super nerdy helps too (PhD in engineering here) Knowing how to setup secure networks, DDNS, and terminate cat5e all really help here. Not difficult by any means at all, perhaps a little outside of the knowledge of the average DIY'er. Also, as with other Amcrest products that I've purchased in the past, these are all "prosumer" devices. Very little in the way of documentation or instructions at all. It isn't too difficult to figure out, but if you haven't played with a PoE camera before, it might have a bit of a learning curve. One other happy surprise that isn't shown in the pictures or written in the description; the wiring pigtail obviously has a PoE port, but it also includes RCA ports for audio in and audio out, as well as a 3-wire pigtail to alert an alarm system. Nice, unexpected bonus.

Solid camera
I have several other cameras that are Wifi and I had avoided 'wired' cameras for fear of having to run wire, but I'm faced with similar challenges running power to the cameras. The slight extra effort needed to run wire for PoE is worth it for ease of setup and use.Camera quality is great, just like I've come to expect from Amcrest. Video load is snappy and features are very useful, like available storage using an SD Card. I have confidence with this being an outdoor camera and being able to withstand the elements based on the longevity of my older Amcrest cameras.Picture quality is also much improved over my older models. If there were a downside, its the 15 fps for 4k recording. Its too likely that something will be missed if the subjects are moving quickly, especially cars, but you can downgrade the quality if a higher framerate is desired. Its a matter of balancing your needs when tweaking settings.Overall, its a solid camera and a great addition to your security solution.

Great Camera with Excellent App Features!
I have been wanting to purchase an Amcrest camera for quite some time, but I didn’t have a need to add any additional cameras until recently. I hadn’t tried a POE camera in the past but thought it would be a good time to give them a shot.First, let me start off by highlighting some of the good points about the camera.1) The picture quality of the camera model that I purchased is superb! It is highly detailed and crisp, as you can see in my still shots.2) The motion detection features work perfectly, much better than some of the other brand cameras that I have.3) Top-notch night vision capture; again, way better than my other cameras.4) The features on the camera and software that Amcrest provides are excellent and filled with details that you can tinker with. While this might be a bit much for the novice at first, it is very desirable for any pros, and with some research and diving in, any novice will grow to appreciate all the settings that you can adjust via the app. The Amcrest app (once you find the correct version) is one of the best I’ve used (I’ve tried two other brands) to date.I will definitely add more Amcrest cameras to our house after we do a home renovation later this year. Now, for my message to other novices like me:If you’re new at setting up POE cameras like I am, I would highly recommend that before you begin the installation process, you read through all the documentation. View a few YouTube videos as well, so you can get a general gist of how things work. The quick setup guide will not provide you with enough knowledge, BUT READ THROUGH ALL OF IT FIRST, and then go to the website to read the bits of the full manual that apply to your setup situation. For example, while it’s fairly easy to plug in the micro SD card, it would be in your best interest to read that section in the manual as there is no mention of how to do so in the quick setup guide. Also, jot down all your questions, or areas that you get confused about (that happened to me during setup) and then call their tech support team. While it may be a bit of a wait, their tech team is SUPER HELPFUL! Nancy is the person who helped me, and she was on top of it! She walked me through things that the average person would not have been able to figure out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND talking to their tech team if you have questions. They are patient and will guide you through all the apps and steps you need to take to get you up and running. They are the best I’ve dealt with outside of the people at Apple. That said, I do have some advice for Amcrest:- The apps on the site need to be updated. The ones I initially downloaded by going to the site and camera page are from 2016, and I only found this out because I spoke with tech support out of frustration that my apps were not working properly.- Please clean up your site to make the experience for novices like me much easier to navigate. I think an audit of the site to streamline the UX, and a refresh on instructions and links will be greatly beneficial.- Please post some simple “how to get started” videos for each camera page for novices; simple walkthrough videos will go a long way to make beginners feel at ease with getting up and running, and they will also reduce calls to your tech support center.- Please update your easy setup guide to cause less confusion. For example, the first option is to download/set up/register for cloud services, but I initially thought this was the only phone app option. Later I realized that there was a different standalone app to download if you’re not interested in cloud services. This could be remedied by adding in something like a table of contents on the quick start, and also adding in more detailed instructions in general. I realize it’s a quick start guide, so you may not want to put too much info, but I feel as though it’s missing bits that make novices like me (and I’m fairly tech-savvy) confused.Overall, I think the Amcrest cameras are a great buy, filled with features that both novices and pros alike can appreciate. I will most definitely be purchasing more in the future to add to our third home security camera system. I may even replace one of our other aging cameras with the ones that Amcrest offers - that's how impressed I am. With a few updates, Amcrest could streamline their website and make the setup experience much easier to follow and satisfying. This product easily deserves 5 stars for the hardware and software. However, I think their website and subsequent setup experience could be polished up a bit … With that said, I think 4 stars is what I will give it for now. 🙂
