Very sharp knife
This knife is what you would expect at this price. It's sharp and very nice to look at. This is not stainless steel, it is Damascus, so you must keep a light layer of oil on the blade to avoid corrosion. I would prefer a little more weight to the knife, but that is just personal preference. I have only been using it for two months, so I cannot comment on edge retention. Overall, this seems like a solid product.

Traditional with modern flair
TUO Chef Knife 8inch Kitchen Knife with 45-layers of high carbon German steel made and assembled in China relating historically to Damascus (Syria), sold internationally on-line, this year of King Charles III, 2023, is cutting edge over a plain carbon steel knife.Immediate thoughts:TUO Chef Knife is now my most expensive kitchen knife.Ninety-nine bucks is a lot of money to spend on an 8inch kitchen knife.$99.00 / 45 (layers) = $2.20 (each layer).Presentation box is designed for gifting. Knife comes in an elegant low luster black finish with magnetic hinged closing flap box. Opening flap lifting the top reveals royal red dense padding but no knife. Then, removing top layer, you see the shaped for your hand resin and wood handle. Next layer down reveals distinctive steel layers which look like topography on a honed shiny blade.Damascus Steel knife comes sharp with some heft (a toy, -it is not). Blade extends through handle. Simple included directions suggest oiling blade. If ignored sheen might dull and oxidize. Yet, I wonder if it might survive devilish dishwasher, occasionally. Yet, I never machine wash my knifes with wood handles. Owning how to clean knife was momentarily complicated.Knife demands a bit of respect. If you are looking for a pleasing well-crafted knife, I would suggest this one.

Handle could be more form fitted and question whether it's real damascus steel
The blade does not look to me like actual damascus steel. It appears to be an etched design. The handle is kind of a love-hate thing. I know it is intentionally unique resin design but maybe it's just luck of the draw but mine had some very sharp and hard transitions that just doesn't look appealing. Also the handle is a simple cylinder shape which, while fine, I would have hoped for a bit more form fitted shape so it was more comfortable to hold. AUS-10 is a good steel if that's actually what this is made of. It's not as good at VG-10 but much better edge retention and wear resistant than AUS-8.
