1. The ad and the user manual refers to the thick disc ice mold as "ice cube".2. You can use ice cubes instead of the provided ice mold but you will get mixed fine ice and some quite big ones because the ice will come out once the ice cube becomes small enough to fit the hole.3. It takes more time to work on ice cubes than the provided ice mold because the crank will slip since there is not enough smooth surface in the ice for the crank to hold on to.4. Easy to clean because the parts can be disassembled.5. You don't have to push the crank down because it comes with a spring but you can also push it if you need the job done faster.6. It unfortunately comes with only 1 mold.
