The canvas is softer than I expected for being plastic, but it's lovely to work with. if you use a sharp needle you will be able to push it through the material outside the pre-punched holes, so a little care is needed. Perfect for kids to learn with though, which is why I got it!

I use this stuff pretty much every day; it's really flexible and can take some beating when it comes to how many strands of thread you use, glue, some yarns etc. great quality too
