Excellent Carport Design & Materials, With A Few Limitations
We got this Carport because we liked the looks of the design, and the size looked perfect to more than cover the roof of our small RV with a steel roof for protection from rain, hail, birds, leaves, and tree limbs. We also liked that the design was a perfect fit for our gravel parking spot, though there were a couple of other issues we would have to solve..First, height clearance inside was about 6ft-6in at the center, while our small RV measures 7ft-10in at the peak.Second, the hardware included for anchoring the posts was designed only for a concrete slab or concrete footing, while we only had space to anchor the posts directly in the ground, like with a ground screw. What I ended up doing was creating some 2-ft long extensions for the corner posts, with an extra foot to carve in half for a 12" long lap joint glued with construction adhesive & secured with 2 large lag bolts. This gave us a new overhead clearance inside of 8ft-8in, or 10" of clearance above our RV.To solve the anchoring of posts in the ground, I got 4 long, heavy-duty anodized steel ground screws to drive securely into the ground. With these securing the post ends in its saddle with the supplied 5 large carriage screws, everything was very solid. The only other issue I had was a ceiling joist under the roof that was warped more than the thickness of the board, so that was going to be an issue for getting all the roofing screws in place. After a couple failed attempts to straighten the board, I succeeded by placing a 2x4 scrap of wood under the bend, then a couple gallon cans of paint on either end until straight, then screw on a 2x4" 8ft board with about 10 stainless 2-1/2" screws (see photo).About the finish...What comes on the wood is a very thin stain that I expect would not have lasted very long. I took advantage of having all the boards in separate pieces to apply an Exterior Solid Color (red cedar) Acrylic Stain + Sealer (Cabot) to every surface of every board prior to assembly. I expect this finish should outlive both me and our camper.Comment:Getting posts here in the USA to match the thickness of the odd sized Chinese 5-inch (4-3/4 finished size) lumber was a real adventure. In our even-sized lumber system, 4x4's are 3-3/4" (too small), while our 6x6's (5-3/4") are too big! The only solution was to use 6x6's & try to find a lumber yard willing to cut two 6x6 8-footers in half & run them through their planer multiple times until you get a 5x5 size. (I found the right place, but it wasn't cheap).But,... now I'm happy to have the car port we wanted.P.S. ...I've noticed some leakage through the roof during a rainstorm, like user "1337M4573R" mentioned in their review. And now I know why - we both installed our roof similarly & upside down!!After reviewing instructions with the cryptic roof panel drawing without a description, it appears to show the wider "gutters" in the panel with their open side (lighter in color) facing upwards (presumably to shed more water) & dark side down, instead of having the small channels facing up to allow screw holes to be in contact with the wood & screwed down tight.Indeed, when I reviewed the description here on Amazon, photos showed the darker side of the roof faces down.I now have to remove 250+ screws, flip & rearrange the 27 steel roofing panels & screw them back in place. They really should have a warning about this (with words!). This is going to be a lot of extra work.P.S. #2:(3/18/24)Yes, a lot of work indeed! Flipping the roof took me an entire day, but now we have the light colored side up, for better drainage & less leakage. (See new photo of light gray roof top).Leakage was substantially reduced, however there was still a small amount in a few spots. I fixed these using a tube of DAP Indoor/Outdoor caulking, which goes on white and then dries clear after a few days to 2 weeks. It was easy to apply, and appears to be working fine now. (See photo of roof underside).

Good Value and Attractive Carport
It takes two people one full day to put up. Quality Pine and the pieces were cut accurately. It came with one coat of protectant sealer and my wife and I liked the color and didn't change it. I would recommend that you consider and outdoor sealant and do two more coats since the wood is pine. The metal plates for the base is very basic and you may want to spend another $100 for plates that lift the wood off the cement so there will be no rot in a few years. A tip- be careful to have the posts in the right location or the metal ribbed roofing will not drain properly. I learned the hard way and had to switch posts after the project was completed!

Nice product and very sturdy
Missing a few bolts but made do with a trip to Home Depot, beautiful color and fairly easy to assemble.

Love the style and rustic wood look.
From the very start this company has been great to work with. They’ve answered every question I have asked them. They have been helpful in getting all the five boxes delivered within a short period of time. The size of the carport will give us more room for our car to be better protected from the weather. We haven’t had a chance to put the carport up yet but I think the pine wood will look great with our cabin.

A few things
A few things to note! I really like the look of the carport, and it fit perfectly where I needed it to. However, the instructions weren't super clear, and I was sent incorrect parts (missing two very important woods pieces for the beams and given extra of other pieces). I ended up having to improvise and purchase my own wood and extra screws to make everything work. I needed to put up this carport in one weekend since I had help on hand and the weather was okay, so I couldn't wait for the right pieces to be sent by the company. Customer service has been very responsive to my feedback and e-mails. I would recommend this product if you're handy and can improvise on the fly, or if you have time to wait for the right parts to be sent (if you're sent the incorrect parts). It looks great, and my neighbors have commented on how nice it looks. I'm in New Hampshire, and haven't experienced a snow storm yet, so I can't comment on how it holds up in winter weather. Took about a day and a half with 3 people. Likely could have been completed in one day if all the correct parts had been sent.
