Small and stable entry-level ring light for selfies or close-up product photography
This is a bright but not dazzling ring light that casts an even light across your face (or object).Very simple to use, it will plug into a USB-A port (or USB power brick) to provide bright even light. There are 5 brightness settings, and the option to switch between cool white, warm white and “both” setting with the press of a remote pad on the power cable.Setting up, you have two options; hook over a monitor (it's very adjustable and very stable) or place on a tabletop (a little "leg" folds out and again, stable and adjustable). Finally, there is an option to rest your iPhone on the little leg to keep it relatively close to the light source. Unlike some other ring lights, your camera won't sit perfectly in the centre of the light source, but it was still "close enough" to evenly light a face. However, the light is on the smaller side (12.5cm) so additional brightness drops off the further away you are from it - further than 1m in a moderately lit room and the brightness becomes less noticeable.Overall, this is a good, compact entry-level ring. Lighting is even when closer to the source (<1m), and the stand is very stable. But the due to the small size, the further you are from the light source, the less even the lighting will appear.

Nice light but the stand could be better quality
- If you're planning to use this ring light for video calls from a computer, then it'll do the job adequately. It hangs on the back of a laptop screen and is quick and easy to set up. I also liked that it's a smaller size than my other ring light - at approx. 12.5cm in diameter it's easy to pop into a laptop bag and set up quickly.- However I'm disappointed with the stand. It isn't very stable when using it for a mobile phone. It works fine when you rest your phone on the stand with the ring light behind it and there's a small 'lip' that prevents your phone from sliding off (see my pics). But, we tried positioning the phone behind the light as you would if taking stills, and the stand doesn't support that, which is a bit disappointing. Also the stand could be made from more durable materials. The plastic feels a bit flimsy and I feel like brushed aluminium would have been a lightweight but more durable solution. This is the reason I've given it 4 stars and not 5.- A positive feature is that you can use it as a desk lamp when working on your computer at night, particularly if you switch it to the warm light option.- It's still worthwhile purchasing if you're looking for a smallish ring light for video calling on a phone or PC and need something lightweight and easy to set up. It might also turn out to be a good light for working on hobbies at night.

Torn
I'm really torn writing this review because it's a tale of two parts. The selfie ring light part is absolutely brilliant. It is bright and being able to have different modes along with being able to alter the brightness is fantastic! It is all controlled by a built into the cable remote and that works perfectly also.I am though a little disappointed with the stand part of things as, for the money, I do think it's cheaply made and also not very useful. It's not that great attaching to a laptop screen as you have no adjustable angle for the clip though does work well when used upright as a standalone stand for a phone or just as a light etc. There are no instructions provided - not that you necessarily need them - but for some they may not be totally sure how it all goes together and how you should use it effectively.I may try and utilise the light using alternate attachment methods as, like said, that is brilliant! One thing to note, there is no battery and the light is solely USB powered (as per the product description) so if you're expecting this then you'll need to look elsewhere. For the current price of £16.99 I do think the stand should be of a better quality like said so on that basis cannot recommend at the current price. If you can get it cheaper though, maybe around half the current price then I would say consider it, if only for the light.I've given this review 4x stars, mainly for the light though I'd give 2x stars for the stand I'm afraid to say.All in all though, it does the job, it is as described so from that side have no complaints.

for the money a great little light
this is a cheap way to have a ring light, it has a stand for desk top use or a clip to hook it onto your laptop screen, i found it easy to use and effective, yes there are better ones out there, mainly in relation to things like the stand, but these are more expensive, for the price of under £14 it's brilliant

Good for close up work, webcam, streaming, close product reviews etc.
A lightweight ring light for use with shorter range video productions. The ring light does a good job at diffusing the light at source so it's a steady glow rather than a singular point of light. The ring then goes some way to mitigating the direct shadows caused by a light source.Whilst it's not very bright it is sufficient for closer work with things like webcam work or close-up product shots. The in-line control box has four buttons to control power, light output up/down and colour temperature. The build is quite frankly on the light side ... no pun intended. It's fragile and wouldn't stand up to much punishment, however that's reflected in the price and this is in no way professional grade lighting equipment. The clip/stand is plastic and again feels very budget, but it works both as a stand and monitor clip. It's adjustable in terms of height and the angle which the light can be aimed at the video subject. It isn't the most stable when used as a stand and extended to full height.Given the low cost, if you're just starting out and want a way to control the shadows and light temperature (colour) then this isn't a bad introduction. It's easy to set up and control. It's not premium quality at all but it does work and doesn't break the bank. Just be mindful this really is only powerful and large enough for close up work. Don't be expecting studio lighting for ranges anything over a few feet.
