Dow Corning Sylgard 184 Solar Cell Encapsulation for Making Solar Panels, 495 g

I have used this product before, but paid almost twice the price because I purchased it from a reseller that is used by biologists (it can be used as a pad material (replacing paraffin), in dissecting trays. It's very good for that purpose.As the title implies, most people use it as protection for electronic components that are exposed to the weather. It is probably good for that also. I found it easy to use, and almost indestructible when set up. Buy it from a company like this and get a good price.

Bought it for the B9 Creator. Works great.for quicker cure:I built a heat box with some old fashion bulbs as the heating element. Someone said around 140-160ish degrees is best so you don't melt the acrylic VATS. Though they are coming out with aluminum and glass ones (THANK JEBUS) that are astronomically better and easier to work with. I bought a custom VAT from someone the B9creator forums and this stuff works perfect for it.Use about 45 grams of this stuff and it works perfect for me. Takes 48 hours to dry otherwise did very very well. I used it to put a new floor on my 3d printer vat.

I tried to encapsulate 36 cells and didn't get it on very thick. It did not get under the bottom like it says it would so air bubbles galore! It is very clear but just not enough to do any practical work. Unless your making a small panel. Can't do anything with it now cells and project looks like crap thanks to this stuff.

I like it's properties once it sets up in 2-3 days at room temperature of 75 degF.I don't like that I can't buy the hardener small bottle by itself due to my using too much hardener and now have extra large container of liquid.

very useful product. very hydrophobic and will cure eventually in most conditions. I have used it so far to make a photo lithography style 3D printers build surface, because of its ability to resist the uv curing resin. and I repaired an above ground 5000 gallon pool that was leaking. I put a patch on the inside of the pool with the Sylgard 184 on it and a patch on the outside with some on it as well. Then I held them in place with two speaker magnets I had.

After 8 days the mixture is still sticky. Hate to have to discard this project because of this. I would advise anyone who is using this product to discard approx 10% of the resin before adding the hardener. Perhaps this would allow it to cure faster in a lower temp area. I will keep it this winter close to my furnace and hope it fully cures.

Bought this to use with the B9 Creator 3D printer. Works very well, havn't had to replace a coating yet and gotten about 15 prints on one layer so far. From reading other reviews i'd heard the number would be closer to 6-8 prints before needing to be replaced. Have not tried curing by heat yet, i just put it in a clean area and let it set for 3 days.
