Works as described
The media could not be loaded. I remember back in the day when I would touch a plasma ball I could hear the sound of static. This one doesn't have that effect. However it does respond to touch well and works as described. I can see the ball wrapped in wires. It's a very neat item to have around. It's lightweight and well made. It only came with the USB so I had to use my own adapter. I wanted to add make sure your hands are dry. I think I may have washed my hands or my 1 year old. I dried them at least I thought I did. My baby touched it and it shocked him. I felt it through him. So be very careful. I'm not taking a star for that accident as it happened so fast. I had just dried our hands and apparently we were still wet on the wrist area. Dry hands only. Also I recommend supervision when young children are around. It's not glass but plastic. It also has a delicate feel to it. It does seem like it'll last and it's large in size.

Zone out for hours watching it
When I first saw a plasma ball in a museum when I was young, I was determined to have one of my own. Of course, that one was about 20 inches in diameter, and this was several decades ago. Back when things like this weren't commonly available. I did eventually find one, very expensive, but worth every penny. I still have it, and it still works. Got this one as a companion for it. They look pretty darn cool next to each other with the lights low. This one functions as described, and seems to be decently made. Hoping to get many years of service out of it (albeit intermittent service). One thing to be aware of is that should you ever break the glass sphere, DO NOT turn it on. It creates plasma by generating high frequency RF waves, and these can cause harm if you were to be blasted by them for a period of time. The glass completely shields the environment outside the sphere, the RF having spent its energy converting the rare earth gasses within into plasma, and the plasma expending its energy impinging on the glass.
