An exceptional cooktop and pan.
This set includes the 6.5” cooktop and 4 qt. pan with lid. The interior pan dimension is 10.25, the external inductive (ferrous) surface is 8.5”. One wonders why they did not include their 8” coil cooktop with the 8.5” pan for more even heat distribution. Just wondering. The 6.5” cooktop alone is $60; the 8” is $75. So, this 6.5” cooktop/10.5” pan set is $140 meaning that the pan is $80. Is the pan worth $80? You bet! But, the product page of this set says nothing about the pan and its coating. From the Nuwave website:Premium Forged ConstructionThe forged aluminum core is durable, lightweight and distributes heat evenly. The high-temperature exterior makes the cookware long lasting while the stainless-steel induction-ready plate helps retain heat for longer.NOTE: Because the cooktop is 6.5 inches and the pan inductive surface is 8.5 inches, there is a 100-degree difference in temperature between the center 7.5 inches of the pan and the outer one-inch of the pan (under which there is no heating coil).Scratch-Resistant CoatingThe Duralon Blue Ceramic Coating is rated at a 9H hardness, just below the highest rating of 10H. This means that the coating will resist abrasions and corrosion, it won’t chip or discolor and will remain non-stick for longer.Premium Tempered Glass LidsThe premium shatter-resistant lids included with this set include a small ventilation opening to ensure steam is released safely while you’re cooking. Plus, they are oven safe up to 350°F and dishwasher-safe for added convenience.Induction-ReadyEvery piece of cookware is bonded and reinforced with an anti-warp stainless steel plate on the bottom to make it induction-ready. This bonding delivers fast, even heat distribution and superior heat retention at any temperature.Oven-SafeEach piece of this cookware set is designed to be safe for use on electric and gas stoves while also being oven-safe up to 500°F for a seamless transition from cooktop to oven while you cook.NOTE: The cover is rated at 350 degrees so a 350-degree oven maximum if the cover is used in the oven.Easy CleanupThe ultra-non-stick Duralon Blue Ceramic Coating provides superior food release. Food slides smoothly along the surface so when you’re done cooking, you can simply wipe the pans clean. No scrubbing required.NOTE: Per the user manual, HAND WASH ONLY with soapy water and a sponge or dish cloth. My ExperienceThis pan seems to be high quality, and flawlessly finished in and out. The pan heats up very rapidly (faster than on my gas stove) and evenly with the exception of the one-inch outer edge, as noted above, under which there is no heating coil (it is a consistent 100 degrees cooler across set temperatures). For me, this has yet to be an issue as all my frying is stirred or place whole towards the center of the pan (burgers/steaks/chicken, etc.).The non-stick surface is non-stick. Regardless of what I am cooking, I always use a basting brush to place an invisible oil film on the surface. I add oil only if I am sautéing or frying foods that require oil. My universal test for non-stick surfaces is scrambled eggs with no butter or oil. This pan easily passes that test, being cleansed with a swish of a paper towel.Cleaning is, indeed, with a swish of a soapy cloth – no scrubbing. As noted, above, only a sponge or dish cloth is recommended – no abrasive pads.Bottom line: a superb, versatile, programable combination of cooktop and non-stick pan that preheats very quickly, cooks evenly (mind the edge) and cleans with a swish. Forgot to mention: the 4-quart pan can handle anything I cook, volume wise.

Great for camping
I purchased this cooktop to take camping, and it has worked wonderfully. It heats up very quickly, and the surface is quite large so all of my pots do fit on it. It seems that even though it heats up quickly, it might take me slightly longer to boil some water, versus using a gas or propane stove. But definitely still gets the job done. Seems sturdy and like it was built to last. We will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it.

Hottest in the center, stir often. Heats up FAST.
This gets hot much faster than my electric stovetop. It took 3 quarts of water an extra two minutes to boil when both were on high (timed it using the same pot) - not enough of a difference to bother me. (I am guessing this was due to the deep pot I used, and the way heat is focused). I have used this to cook several meals and I'm happy with the performance. This will be perfect for cooking while traveling / camping, and as a backup in case of power outages because it can be plugged in to a generator. The center of this cooktop gets much hotter than the outer edges, so anything that is very temperature sensitive will need extra attention and stirring. If you want to sear something though, go right in the middle and it does a very nice job. The cooktop is very intuitive, with the buttons clearly labeled and obvious. The cooktop does not get cold instantly (like the hand touching it in the ad), but it does cool down significantly as soon as a pan is removed or the pause button is pressed. On the electric stove, turning a burner off means the pasta will keep boiling for several minutes - on this cooktop, press Pause and the boiling stops immediately. It is much closer to cooking on a gas stove than on electric, from a control perspective, which I really like. The pan I have mixed feelings about. It's a great size and shape, and easy to wash, but the edges of the handle are narrow enough to hurt my hand due to the pan weight. I just wear my oven mitts and it's okay but I prefer other pots / pans that are more comfortable in my hand.Overall I am very happy with this cooktop and it's a good addition to my kitchen.

great induction cooktop/ceramic pan combo. Easy to use cooktop
Nuwave induction cooktop with ceramic pan is a great combo. I got it mainly for the induction cooktop. I have a few ceramic pans, and the new pan is a great addition.Flex Precision induction cooktop is very solid and feels heavy, not like the portable infrared electric cooktop is very light and feels flimsy. Nuwave induction cooktop operation is super easy with easy-to-use buttons. You don’t have to read the user manual to navigate your way around for basic usage. Cooking is fast and instant with my AllClad stainless steel pots and pans. I can feel the heat right away on the side of the pots when cooking. During cooking, if you remove the pain and pots, the induction cooktop will stop. Once the cookware is returned to the cooktop, cooking will resume immediately. When done with cooking, the heating glass surface is not hot at all! Cleaning can be done immediately not like other type of cooktops you will need to wait till the cooking surface is cooled. One downside with induction this cooktop is there is a cooling fan. It is pretty loud when it is in use. Overall, I am excited to use this cooktop to help prepare food during part. Additionally, it is incredibly portable, allowing me to use it everywhere there is an electrical outlet. 5-star.

A great addition to my kitchen
I recently purchased this cooktop and have been pleasantly surprised by its performance. It heats up much faster than my electric stovetop, and even though it took an extra two minutes to boil three quarts of water on high compared to my electric stove, I believe it was due to the deep pot I used and the way the heat was focused. The difference was not significant enough to bother me, and I have used this cooktop to cook several meals with satisfactory results.I particularly like that this cooktop can be used while traveling or camping and as a backup in case of power outages since it can be plugged into a generator. However, the center of the cooktop gets much hotter than the outer edges, so anything that is very temperature sensitive will require extra attention and stirring. But if you want to sear something, the center does an excellent job.The buttons are clearly labeled, and the cooktop is very intuitive to use. It is much closer to cooking on a gas stove than an electric one, which I really appreciate because I feel like I have more control. Pressing the pause button stops the boiling immediately, unlike an electric stove where the pot keeps boiling for several minutes after the burner is turned off.The pan that comes with the cooktop is a great size and shape and easy to wash. However, I have mixed feelings about the edges of the handle, which are narrow enough to hurt my hand due to the pan's weight. I usually wear oven mitts, but I prefer other pots and pans that are more comfortable to hold.Overall, I am very happy with this cooktop and believe it is a great addition to any kitchen.
