Among others are the addition of a "Part 7" which is titled the "Kingdom of Mystical Creatures" which includes Basilisk up to Unicorn. The descriptions take on a more personal note, as Ted shares stories about his encounters, namely his rescue of a Barred Owl named Calliope that was found injured along a roadside in Tennessee after a tornado hit.A lot of the animals presented are of the exotic type and may turn away those seeking guidance for the more domesticated ones of the US (look into Animal Speak, also by Ted), but this book is more than worth the price of admission.

Ted Andrews has always been an incredible man with incredible theories and ideas. "Animal-Wise", like his earlier book, "Animal-Speak" helps the reader to discover the symbolic meanings of animals and what they can, and do, mean in your own life. He also helps you to discover what your totem animal is: a "spiritual guide" that aids you throughout your life. Some people have one while others have several.To some people, this may seem like B.S. but for those who believe, or are even curious, Ted Andrews is the author to turn to. Other authors have written about the same subject, but without the passion or the easy explanations that Ted Andrews does.I definitely give this book, and its author, a 5-STAR THUMBS UP! Great book love it.

I want to own all the books Ted Andrews wrote or even thought about writing. His wisdom is wonderful and wouldn't it be great if we all were more in tune with ourselves and the world around us?

I've had Ted Andrews' Animal-Speak for years - it is a wonderful resource for identifying the reasons why an animal has shown up in your life, and it also presents a wealth of factual information about the animals, their habitats and mannerisms. This companion book to Animal-Speak addresses a wider range of insects, and also includes more exotic animals and some mythical creatures as well.

easy read, fun, touching and practical

Am very much enjoying this book. I also purchased Animal Speak and Nature Speak. All delightful books - Ted Andrews writes so clearly, and his insights provide immediate answers or connections that resonate with me. Although I've not felt compelled at the moment to do the "exercises" he offers in his books (eg. like making your own shaman stick, or the meditations in the forest to find your totem), I am enjoying his mini-stories and all the "dictionaries" of various groups of creatures (birds, mammals, reptiles, etc.)

Great book and I have his other books, all are informative; however, I like the fact that he has included more animals in this edition.One of those books that you do not lend out as it is a reference and study tool that others become addicted to and tend not to return.
