This works wonders in our skylights in the kitchen. Easy to install, perfect measurements. Blackout blinds protect from the heat. Very well made. Follow the directions to assemble and had no issues. Bought a second one since this worked so great!

These blinds are high quality and look very nice. They come professionally packed, they're easy to assemble, and assuming you get your measurements correct, they're easy to install. The most difficult part is getting the tension right on the blind cords. The instructions don't say very clearly how to do this.First, assemble the blinds. If you have it set up against a wall or something, you will see the blind just slams closed. Open the blinds all the way and have a helper hold it open, or use a piece of string or something to keep it from sliding closed.Loosen the screw connected to the plastic tab and string in the bottom of the frame. I usually loosen it nearly all the way, then use the tip of the screwdriver to slide it towards the center of the frame. You'll encounter a surprising amount of tension pretty quickly-- so don't let the string snap it back. Using two screwdrivers helps, since you can keep the tab where you want it while you tighten the friction screw again.It take a certain amount of testing and resetting to get the tension correct- you want it tight enough that the blind stays where you set it, whether halfway open or fully open-- but you don't want so much tension that it's difficult to open or close.

Bought this for a skylight in my bedroom. Was skeptical of how much of the sun it would block out, but it does great can't tell its bright out side! I gave it 4 stars because it is a little difficult to open and close being so high up. All in all though I am happy with it. The sizing was also accurate.

As long as you get your measurements correct these are a nice improvement for controlling the light in your rooms with skylights. During the summer we are now able to keep the room cool by blocking the hot sun.

Perfect fit, beautiful operation, and fully blacks out the sunlight. Also, great communication to get the measurements spot-on! I would recommend to anyone, ordering from Moonice provides perfect results!

Good directions, easy assembly and installation. But thin cordage broke within minutes of installation—appears to be unrepairable. Waiting to hear from seller.

I ordered two of these for our skylights. One of them installed and adjusted tension easily. For the other one, we heard the sound of a small plastic piece falling to the ground when we unpackaged it. We couldn't find the plastic piece and weren't sure if it was unimportant and part of the packaging or not. Turns out it was important, as we quickly found out that the blind was impossible to tension properly. After deconstructing the blind and inspecting it, we found the string that is used to tension the blinds was slipping through the cellular shades because the knots had been improperly tied (two in series instead of two on top of each other). The issue with the knots is also what presumably allowed a small grommet to fall out and to the floor when it was unpackaged (the sound of a plastic piece falling to the ground that we heard). We were able to re-thread the blinds using a long needle and found a small washer that worked as a makeshift grommet since we were never able to find the original. After reassembling the blinds, we found the strings used for tensioning were significantly too long to properly tension the blinds and had to be trimmed much shorter.In addition, one of the side aluminum pieces was missing one of the pre-drilled holes used for mounting, so we had to drill our own.If both blinds had been like the first one we installed I would have been pretty happy with our purchase, but the other one was a lemon and soured the experience, turning what should have been a trivial install into a multi-hour project.The blinds themselves work as advertised (once installed) and do a great job in blocking sunlight and heat.

This is a simple and effective blind to cut our heat and light from our skylight. Our skylight is above our kitchen table and the heat and light was a problem. It also was the most cost effective solution.

I love the blind it works wonderfully and I looking forward to having it for a long time

While it’s not cheap, it’s fairly good value compared to the alternative. My only complaint is the handle is wobbly, hopefully it doesn’t break on me because my skylight is very high. Installation was reasonably easy, but the tension adjustment may not be very intuitive, based on other comment reviews I figure out how to make the adjustment.

This product was easily yo put together and fit perfectly to stop the sun from our roof window

Wish I had bought this years ago. Looks so attractive and keeps out the heat from a south-facing skylight! Very happy with this purchase.
