Several of my very favourite Bergman films are not here (but there are so many and hardly a dud among them). Even so, this is a sound selection of works by the greatest film-maker of the twentieth century and would make a wonderful introduction to anyone new to Bergman's work. I was given this box as a present and love all of the films here. Although "The Seventh Seal" has the greater fame, I would recommend starting with "Wild Strawberries". This is a film that gently puts a hand into your soul. The greatest works of art make you see the World in a new way. This was certainly the case for me. No one can consider themselves truly civilised who has not seen this film. I would recommend watching "Persona" last. It, too, has great fame but, in spite of marvellous performances by the two actresses, it can seem both pretentious and superficial if you have not had the experience of some of the more accessible films.Strongly recommended

Before I saw the Seventh seal and the other films in this collection I was a typical action-film only viewer, afterwards I never watch them again...these films open a whole new world for me, give it a try and it might be the same for you.
