I bought this charger because I believe my new battery for my truck was dead. I let my truck sit for 4 months without driving. Opened the box, to find the product box, then pulled the unit out and lifted the handle. Plugged everything in after it was hooked up to my battery sitting on my deck. It took 5 hours to charge. Got the green light, then put my battery back into my truck. Truck still didnt start, but that has nothing to do with this charger. The charger did its job, plus it has multiple features and is a decent sturdy. Process of elimination to get my truck running again. I would tell you if you need a charger that works and works well, this is the unit for you. Costly but worth it.

Got our vechicle running. Easy to use, charge rate was sufficient and helps extend battery. Did not heat machine when using. It is bulky. Like the alternator test.

Biggest pos I’ve ever bought. Hook up battery and keeps turning off. Every time I’ve called I have gotten no help. Do not recommend

I bought this a while ago to replace a smaller same brand of charger that I had bought but it went bad and then the replacement one went bad, so decided to try a larger unit. I charge both car batteries and also a battery bank for both my home and camper which is four 6 volt deep cycle batteries hooked together as one big 12 volt battery. It works good at charging both types but I wish it had heavier cables, it doesn't matter if it's just a car battery or the big battery bank the cables get hot while charging. It doesn't matter what battery it is or how much the battery needs to be charged the unit always starts charging at the 40 amp setting and stays there until the battery is charged.

I received the SC1309 today. Not well made and it didn't work out of the box. Turned it on and it immediately goes off. I tried several 12volt batteries. The base was wobbly, so I checked out the bottom and found the wheelbase (Plastic) was a 2-piece design but there where different screws on each side holding them on the body. and there where rivets in scattered places on the bottom of the housing, like they didn't belong. As if it was repaired. I also notice some of the rivets were holding the cover that wraps around the front and sides, where most of the cover were black self-tape screws. Another note is that the rivets were silver aluminum, I would think a factory rivet would be black to match the screws. Needless to say, I packed it right up and returning it first thing tomorrow.

Works great—charged a bank of three deep cycle RV batteries in just a few hours. Easy to hook up and dial in the right setting for whatever you're charging. Runs quiet, with just a bit of fan noise. Just note: it's a full-size rolling charger, so you'll need some floor space in your garage or shop to store it.
