Burpee
I love the fact that these filters when routinely washed off with a clean sponge and reinserted could last up to three years. This system is an expense in the beginning of $395 although I’m extremely comfortable in the fact that I’m not putting any calcium or chlorine sodium And other toxic chemicals that come from faucet water. This water is extremely smooth no taste to it. I drink a lot of water during the day. I cook with this water, I boil eggs in this water. Anything that’s going inside of my body. I use this water. I would buy this Burpee Over and over again.

Excellent filtration system.
Have had water filtration system for a couple years now. I have the piece of mind now that I am drinking much Cleaner water would recommend using the Berkey filters though they are a little more expensive they do work better.

Great filters, unnecessarily cheap design
If you're a moderate to hard core camper this is for you. If like me your trying to get your less than outdoorsy significant other to enjoy the great outdoors this may not work for you. Day one - worked great, easy to use/setup water tasted excellent! Day two, wife saw a tiny gnat floating in the potable water section and it was game over. The top half holding the water to be filtered just pops onto the lower half containing the filtered water with no real seal, slight irregularities in the plastic allowed the little bugger to slip in and ruin my day. Back to bottled water for her. A slightly more robust threaded seal would have prevented this tragedy.

My second Berkey
The first Berkey Light lasted for 16 years before the plastic surround the spigot wore down so it leaked. Considering multiple use everyday for 16 years I’d say I more than got my money out of that Berkey! After it started leaking I went three days without a Berkey as I waited for the new one to arrive. It seemed like forever and I realized how much I had relied on how easy it is to obtain safe water with a Berkey.

bought for the filters, the plastic parts might be light but it is plastic
Bought for the black replacement filters, when no one had them. I will not use the plastic parts, after all news about plastic micro and nano parts in our organs, it does make sense to use any plastic container, of course more research will come out, but first results of multiple studies are not good, some researchers report that even in our brain it is 0.5% of plastic on average. Why not make it glass? Heavier, but healthier, and you can better see how much water is inside, which is harder with original metal container.

Great tasting water
I own 2 of them and stopped drinking tap water long ago. Love it.

Stainless might be more desireable than plastic.
I didn't buy my Berkey Light on Amazon so I won't show as a verified purchaser. I'm replacing my Berkey Light with a stainless steel system because I noticed water dripping from one of the unused plugged holes in the top reservoir. After examining it I discovered a crack in the plastic by the plugged hole causing the leak. This wouldn't happen with a stainless steel system. In all fairness to Berkey I bought my Berkey Light over 10 years ago and it's just now failing so I did get considerable use from the system as it was used daily. I'm only doing this review so other purchasers might know what to expect if they choose plastic over stainless.
