Big fan of Spartan cameras
I own a piece of hunting land where the cell service is very poor. Decided to test these and see how it went. Very pleased! Simple and clear instructions for set up and I’m getting crystal clear photos.

mutli carrier NOT compatible with Verizon
I ordered the multi carrier and Verizon says it is not compatible. Just wanted to get that out there but still giving 5 stars because I can’t judge the actual camera yet other than this. Seems good so far but I think you must get the Verizon version even though it says multi carrier will work.Update: i got the new one, the Verizon one. But after an hour on the phone with Verizon and setting it up, it is still not working. It will not register. I have contacted Spartan support and will update. Nothing about the settup process has been smooth for me. The product was not working on Verizons end which us why it took an hour. I am like 4 hours into setup on this and still have no camera. I can only hope it is worth it.

Another Spartan GoCam for my collection.
Just recieved my new GoCam and can't wait to start getting photos and videos from it. Spartan Cameras have huge thumbnail files which results in a super clear imagine being sent to your phone so you don't have to request an HD photo to get a clear picture and if you do decide to request an HD pics or video sent to your app it is at no additional charge like other companies, plus you can add additional cameras for just $5 per month. Having these cameras has changed the whole way I hunt and given me the opportunity to learn more about how deer behave.. Love being able to see 30 second videos when I want without having to eat up data on videos that I don't need.. Would definitely recommend buying a Spartan Camera from Amazon for the quick shipping..

Really disappointed
When it comes to hunters I would consider myself a pretty tech savvy person. The initial setup requires you to hand type in a 20 digit long number, mess it up and you have to start back over from scratch. After several failed attempts thinking I couldn’t read I found out their servers were down. Once that was resolved I was able to add a plan to them one would think except no I couldn’t just add a plan to a camera already in my system I had to type in both the 12 digit number and the 20 digit number for both cameras again. Then I purchased there 6gb plan for $109 for 6 months because it says good for up to 10 cameras. So I think cool that’s smart one plan works for multiple cameras that will be nice. Except no it’s an extra $5 per month per camera even now I’m like well whatever I just want a camera that works good. I verify they get service get my cameras setup in the woods go to make edits to the setup and man what an over complicated pain in the ass. They have gone way over the top with their program and it’s insane. I have ran multiple cameras and never have I not been able to decipher what the setup procedures are. From setup to making adjustments to buying a plan this is one of the most non user friendly programs I have ever used. If you are looking for a simple camera solution this isn’t it.

Nice Trail Camera
The media could not be loaded. I went with this camera because a good friend of mine swears by the company. He runs MANY of them on his property with great results. Now, having said that, let me share my experience so far with this particular camera. I've had this camera for about a month, and have just recently got it out in the woods for some pre-season recon on white tail. When I first opened the package, as others have pointed out, your SIM card will already be installed in the camera, so don't freak out if you don't immediately see it. I did grab a decent SD card and formatted easily in the unit itself. Registration is easy using the Spartan website or downloading the app. But here is where things can get dicey. Spartan offers a variety of data plans/packages for you to choose from, depending on your needs. There are basically tiers offered. The cameras can be supported by either AT&T or Verizon (or I think there is also a version that will handle both, but don't quote me on that). The reason I say it's a little dicey is because it occurred to me that I have unlimited everything through my provider already, so it didn't make sense to me to be paying for a separate plan. I could just add it to my existing plan for a couple dollars a month. I still have access to everything in the app, and so far, it has been working well. Now if I had say, 6 of these cameras, then it might be worth going with one of Spartan's plans since adding each one to my phone plan would probably be expensive. You really have to think about what works best for you. Now, if you add it to your own plan, you will have to get a SIM card from your service provider, and register it that way. Add it like you would a tablet or smart watch. The SIM that comes with the camera is only compatible with Spartan's data plans (I found out after much headaches and phone support). LolNow as to the quality of the actual camera:It is smaller and lightweight compared to some of the other brands out there, but it is by no means a micro. The 12 AA batteries this thing eats adds a bit of weight to it as well. The tethering strap that is provided is okay for smaller trees, but I found myself needing to use a much longer strap for the trees in my particular area. It has a decent camo pattern on it, but from most of the footage I've reviewed so far, deer still see it. The provided antenna picks up signal great where I have it, but stands out as it is tall and flat (wide). I did employ a security box and cable lock as well, I'm an attempt to keep potentially prying eyes and fingers out of the camera. The microphone pics up every little sound and is pretty clear. The pictures (photos) are decent on the higher quality settings as are the videos. However, I run the videos on a lower quality setting just to speed things up when being sent to my phone. The NV on this camera is okay, and does what it needs to do, but don't expect a giant field of view in pitch black.Daytime video and photos are great. Battery life so far seems pretty good, considering I had the sensitivity up. Between that and the wind blowing a few leaves around, I was getting NONSTOP notifications for like 4 hours after I hung it and drove home. I was able to change all of that remotely through the app on the phone, and now it works well. Still have almost 100% life left in the cheapo batteries I stuck in there - even with overnight temps where it's hung dropping into the high 40's - low 50's.Now you can purchase a solar panel and external battery for the Go Cam; but understand that it runs on a different voltage than the other Spartan cameras. So you're kind of stuck buying it through them if you're not electronically inclined. I am not.So in the future, I may be getting one. Just be warned they are EXPENSIVE. We'll see what happens after the first half of the season, and if it rates getting the power upgrade.I'm going to try and add some footage on here from the camera itself if I can figure it out. Which brings up another point: User InterfaceYou will absolutely need to read and re-read the manual (that apparently is only available online) to get the detailed explanation of each feature. The quick start up guide that comes with the camera is only to get you put together and powered up.After that, it's fairly simple. Navigation is easy enough through directional and the menu button.I won't say the camera itself feels robust, because it certainly doesn't. It feels like it may break in a disastrous way if dropped, so please be careful when handling it. I do not intend on proving or disproving that theory any time soon. The price for this camera is a but on the high side, but a stroll through any big box outdoor store will yield tons of other manufacturers with similar price points. So I guess go with what fits your budget. I don't intend on buying many cameras - at least not any time soon, so putting out a few more bucks for this one right now worked for me.I would say, in all this camera has worked for me (so far); and I don't have any real major complaints about it. Time will tell, and we'll see what happens at the middle or end of this season. If anything changes, I'll update as necessary.
