Good Ukelele for beginners
Our daughter loves this Ukelele. It is perfect for beginners. The color option with the dolphin makes her love it more, which has really helped to spark her interest in it. I think it is also less intimidating for her because it looks kid friendly. She has been playing for 3 weeks now and is getting better and better.

Great uke.
I have a much nicer uke myself, but this is the second dolphin that I've bought. It is a solid no frills playable instrument. Perfect for my kids to learn with and bang around. In its price range there are a bunch of questionable ukes. This one is decent and playable. Another nice thing about this is that as my kids grow and develop more skill they will have these as beaters that they can play for years to come after they get nicer instruments. The strings are not the best, and it took over a week of playing and tuning before they stabilized. Now they hold their tune we'll enough, but still have a dead sound quality. When they get switched we will use Aquilla strings, and the uke will really sing.As for setup, I'm not sure many shops actually take the time to setup $50 ukes. At least I can say that this has better action and intonation than any of the comparably priced ukes I looked at in music shops. For most shops this category of instrument is a novelty.

There is no reason to waste your money on any other soprano Ukulele
I bought this for my 10 year old grandaughter after using my own for a year. There is no reason to waste your money on any other soprano Ukulele, whether you are a beginner or more advanced. Great for children and adults. Mine has held up well, and rarely needs tuned at this point. I have other ukes, and the Kala has the best sound of all of them, even the more expensive ones. Will most likely be buying more for my other grandchildren as they become interested.

Sent a shark bridge instead of a dolphin
I'm suppose to get a dolphin bridge soprano in pink but they sent me a shark one instead but I guess it's just fine cause I actually wanted a shark. My other complain is that it says that it comes with a cd but I did not get any so is that just me? Idk. anyway the ukulele was delivered earlier than expected (delivered at 2:36 pm but it's suppose to be at 8:00pm) the string get un-tuned all the time but I'm just gonna change it with my Aquila strings. All in all everything's great.

cute but unplayable
This cute plastic uke was probably a better bet for dd to take to camp; which is why we purchased it. And the package, which includes a tuner and a nice gig bag was a good value. The bridge and frets seemed fine. But after I discovered the c string on this one wouldn't stay in tune for more than two minutes (broken tuning key? Too stretchy no name strings?) With camp in two days we went to our local music store and bought a similar package.Compared to the mahagony cordoba soprano uke we bought for only ten bucks more at the local store the maholo doesn't sound good at all.The cordoba package includes an equally nice gig bag, two picks, the same tuner. And even dd prefers it, even though the cordoba is neither intentionally cute nor pink.Worst of all I spent ten bucks returning this defective item to the seller (about a quarter of the cost). The seller was prompt about sending instructions for a return but cut me no break for the return of a defective item.

Great little Uke
We bought two of these for our 3 and 5 year olds for Christmas. After getting them tuned up, they have been a fun starter instrument. For what they are, the tone is pleasant, the tuner is functional -- though the display does not allow it to be super accurate. The "gig bags" are of a decent quality as well. It would be nice if the gig bag pocket was sewn more loosely, or if there was somewhere else in the gig bag that was big enough to put the tuner.

Surprisingly nice sound
I bought this for my kids to learn ukulele on before I purchase a nicer one - like mine. However this one has a richer sound than mine so I might buy one for me too! The digital tuner works well and makes it faster to get the tuning done. Like others suggested I would upgrade the strings but you can't go wrong with the ukulele.

Great gift
Very pleased with our purchase. This was a birthday present for our daughter who turned 15. I read so many reviews and finally went with this one. When my daughter opened this at her birthday party all of the girls just gasped when they saw it was a pink ukulele! My daughters favorite color! Nice quality, nice case and she loved the digital tuner. I would highly recommend this ukulele.
