YETI Rambler 36 oz Bottle, Vacuum Insulated, Leakproof, Stainless Steel with Chug Cap

This was my first Yeti bottle. I like the lilac color. It’s a delicate, pretty color that is simultaneously purple and silvery (it’s not metallic in color, but makes me think of it as a silvery purple, if that makes sense). Depending on the lighting, it can look kind of pale or washed out, though. It keeps ice cold for days— I recommend not adding too much ice, since it takes a while to melt and less ice means more water to drink if you don’t want to wait a long time for the ice to melt and become more delightfully cold water. The advantage of the chug cap is that if you do want a lot of ice, you won’t have to mess with trying to get a straw drown through it when it partly melts and refreezes as you fill the bottle. However, if you prefer a straw lid, Yeti does sell them separately, and all the Rambler bottle caps are interchangeable (Note that their plastic Yonder bottles have different caps that don’t fit on the metal bottles). I appreciate that the bottle is leakproof and can be laid on a car seat or carried in a bag. The only time I’ve had an issue with a bottle leaking was one time when I didn’t put the gasket back on the right way after cleaning it, and even then I had it upside down in my cup holder (one way to get to fit in a standard car cup holder) and it didn’t leak very much. One thing to be aware of is that the 36 oz bottle tends to be too large for a lot of cup holders. I got a cup holder expander for mine so that it fits, though.

Even on sale for $35, this was the most I'd ever spent on a water bottle, but I'm so glad I did. I hate sharp ridges on drinking containers, I hate oval-shaped openings, I hate straws of all types, and above all I hate easily dent-able plastic that gets smelly even when I try to stay on top of washing it regularly. This big, beautiful hunk of metal has solved all of that for me.The metal and outer coating have held up incredibly well, despite me regularly smacking it into everything from brick walls to metal railings to the asphalt outside. No dents, no gouges, barely some light scratches on the bottom. I could probably use this as a weapon in a fight and it would be the last man standing. It's easy to keep a grip on too, thanks to the coating's slight texture, and I don't worry about it sliding even though it's heavier.The handle feels secure and the top has never budged while carrying it around. Yet somehow, it's also easy to open and close when I actually want to. The inside portion (the clear plastic with the drinking spout) stays put VERY well to the point that it's difficult for my noodle arms to unscrew sometimes, so I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with arthritis, poor hand mobility, etc. (Unless you have someone else who does the dishes.) But at the same time, that means it never unscrews accidentally with the cap and never leaks. All three parts are also dish washer safe, so I can unscrew it once per wash and pop everything in, no fuss. It doesn't hold on to smells anyways, even the plastic parts, but I like knowing that it's getting properly sterilized.Overall, an incredible pick that I'm very happy with and hope to own until the apocalypse happens and only this water bottle survives to be found by future civilizations.

My favorite water bottle. They are pricey, but I use one literally every day. This is my 2nd of these. The first one from a couple years ago is still great, so this is not a "replacement" but just a 2nd one to add to the rotation. They do dent/scratch if dropped on concrete/gravel, but the blemishes are relatively small with no effect on performance. It keeps my tea cold all day in the summer in my hot car. I recommend adding the straw lid if you don't want to have to mess with the screw top every time you want a drink, but the straw lid is more likely to leak. The only "con" is that it doesn't fit in the car cupholder and it's a little on the heavy side, but it's worth it. Barkeepers friend is excellent for removing any stains.

I tried purchasing an off brand to save money. Never again. I only buy Yeti! This one is my favorite. I drink a lot of water so this is a great size for me.

Hard to argue against Yeti brand when it comes to quality and durability, so yea it tends to be more expensive but it’s likely going to last at least twice as long as its half price “competition”. Relatively easy on off of the cap for ME but much harder for anyone with lower grip/twist strength which can make cleaning it tough. Think of it like this, if you have trouble opening jars in the fridge then you ARE going to have trouble getting this lid off. The rubber helps grip a bit but if you’re a little “weaker” with these type of openings then that would be my only hesitation in saying you should buy this. Otherwise it’s fantastic. Good volume, the chug lid makes drinking easy, and the cap allows both for easy carry by hand as well as easy to clip to a bag. A+ stuff from Yeti here
