Fantastic gun to use for aluminum MIG. Light and comfortable to hold and use!
Need to repair the aluminum ladder for our boat and my aluminum tig skills leave a LOT to be desired so figured I'd give aluminum MIG a shot so ordered this to go with my MIG 200 and some aluminum wire. Tested it out on some aluminum plates I had and absolutely LOVE using MIG for aluminum already. For those who have not done it before but have already done MIG welding, this is the way to go but there is a learning curve. The biggest things I had to adjust to was not weaving and also very fast travel speed, like VERY fast. The not weaving the weld wasn't too hard to do, especially considering the weight of the spool gun, which is not near as heavy or awkward as I thought it would be, but the travel speed was a big one. I watched several videos and read articles that all talked about how fast you need to move the gun/weld but until you actually do it, it's hard to visualize. It only took about 10 minutes of using this spool gun though to get comfortable with it and be able to do welds with good repeatable quality. This gun, paired with the ArcCaptain MIG 200 is a great and powerful combination especially for the price! The only complaint I've found is the wire speed needs to be cranked WAY up as well for aluminum and the charts I was looking at ranged from 350-450 depending on your wire and the thickness of the material being welded but the MIG 200 seems to cap out on speed around 390ish but for what I was doing, 14-15 volts and 375ipm on the wire seemed to work really well!

Great product, better customer service
Great product for price. Had one issue when the spool jammed up, and reached out to the company, and they responded quickly, and replaced the broken part. Great customer service!

Good quality
I purchased this spool gun as USED just thinking I would take a chance. $134 rather than $189. It arrived in two days well packed with all the expected parts. Upon inspection I could not find so much as a scratch. The gun functions as it should and had clearly never been used. Thanks ArcCaptain for another great product and thanks Amazon for a great buy and service.
