No Plastic! Easy to clean. Keeps food fresh.
Totally dishwasher safe and drys quickly. Easy for kids to open and close. More than I originally wanted to spend, but it’s great quality and I think it will last a few years.

Silicone
I'm lunchbox obsessed so I'll post my review and comparison to the PlanetBox Rover and Yumbox Panino. I also hate using plastic, so I do prefer silicone, steel, or glass. I buy these for my kiddo, but I use them also.It IS leak proof, but to an extent. I put water into the largest main compartment, sealed the container, and shook it around. The water did not leak out of the entire container. The lid was on securely and did not feel like it would get knocked off if you toss this into a backpack. But the water leaked out from the large compartment into the other compartments. It's not a full seal like a Yumbox. If you put a sandwich into the main compartment, and wet items in the others, your sandwich can get soggy. Even if you lined up the container to the lid threads, I don't think you'll get a perfect seal. It's pretty easy to open. It's silicone so I can see it having that tendency to have lint, hair, etc stick to it. Usually silicone also has the tendency to keep flavors/scents from food and soap. Overall I do like it, but I'm not sure if it'll be my #1 choice (currently using PlanetBox Explorer for myself and the Yumbox for my kiddo).Weight:- Lunchbots 1.2 lbs- Rover 1.4 lbs- Panino 1.1 lbs

It’s perfect and I’m buying another
It’s perfect. Keeps food separate and is easy to clean. We’ve used it for almost a year and it looks like new. No staining either. Fits inside soft lunchbox nicely.

Great idea, but has a big drawback
I bought several lunch containers similar to this and this one seemed like the best. The two things about it that I like are that it’s not plastic and that you can remove the compartments to create what we you need for that day. The other thing that helps is that you can stretch out the pieces so that if you need more room in one compartment you can leave one section out and bend/stretch the one piece to fit what you need. My son also chose this one out of 3 similar boxes. The huge downside to having removable parts is that my son accidentally threw out one piece with his lunch garbage. I emailed the company asking if I could purchase a replacement and they asked me to send photos and some info only to respond with one sentence that they don’t offer replacement parts. The cost is another negative. It’s way too expensive to purchase another one and I’m bummed that we can’t really use it as intended anymore. The two small pieces are too small for chips.

Exactly what I have been searching for
This lunchbox is a game changer. I can send my toddler with food that needs to be heated and cold food in the same container. It’s a game changer. And it’s not made of plastic which is an added bonus! Love love love this product! Will probably be buying more in the future.

A comparison: LunchBots Build-a-Bento vs the LunchBots Medium Duo
I am a big fan of LunchBots and have used them for a few years to pack my kids' lunches, specifically their Medium Duo stainless steel containers. I got a couple of these new Build-a-Bentos (in blue and tie dye pink) to see how they compared. I packed two identical lunches in the Build-a-Bento and the Medium Duo.My initial thoughts on the BAB after a week of lunch packing:-This is a great bento to get if you want to house everything in one box. This fit one half sandwich, a side of fruits/veggies and a few treats. The lid of the bento keeps the compartments divided - I was worried, for example that bits of chip would fall into other compartments in transit but that did not happen. I also love that you can take the compartments out, so I can now pack different things like a big salad, pizza slices for the kids. The silicone is dishwasher friendly but since it's bigger it takes up a bit more space.-If you look at my pic you'll see the Medium Duo is a bit smaller, which is convenient in its own way. A half sandwich and fruits/veggies fit perfectly. However, you need to pack snacks in separate containers. I also think the stainless is super easy to pop into the dishwasher and takes up less space. If you use a lot of multipack style snacks (like bags of chips, granola bars) that you wouldn't put in a bento anyway, this might be a better option for you. I know this is not a review for the Medium Duo but I will say I LOVE these boxes, have been using them for 2+ years, and they look seriously brand new.-I also included a pic to show how these fit into my kids lunchboxes - they have Pottery Barn Kids Mackenzie Classic boxes. The Build a Bento fits perfectly, you have some extra space for a napkin, plasticware, a smaller item like granola bar or fruit snacks but not much else.Overall, I'm very happy with my new LunchBots Build a Bentos. I wouldn't say one is better than the other - it is simply figuring out what would work best for your family. I think these new bentos are great for an "all-in-one" lunch and will also be great for sending the kids with pizza, salads etc, and am looking forward to using these bentos alongside the LunchBots Medium Duo boxes we already have!

Not leak proof and the lid isn't secured on
The chambers can leak into each other and the lid does not secure in place. Maybe I misread the description but this was not what I expected considering the price.
