RC90 Downrigger Release Clip
A**E
Takes time to get them adjusted to what you need.
This release is well made and easy to use. However you need to do a lot of experimentation with the tension setting to get a good match to what you are putting in the water. If you do a lot of different types of lures and setups the various tension settings could cause you problems trying to remember how the release was set each time.

Best Release Clip on the market & great for Trout and Kokanee too
Best release clip on the market and it's so versatile and easy to use allowing you to use any type of fishing line, including braided line which is why I bought it. The standard pad release clips will not hold braided line and you have to change out the pads now and again to keep the pad releases functioning correctly. The RC-90 - Black Marine Downrigger Release clip assembly has the Release clip attached to the 36" wire leader so you can attach one end to the downrigger clip and then attach the lead weight to the clip on the RC-90 release assembly. This provides about a 31" clearance from the lead weight to the bottom of the release clip. A real quick and easy setup that can be moved around as needed.Used the RC90 on a recent Salmon fishing trip to BC and once they were adjusted properly for the flasher setup, they worked flawlessly with the braided line. Used them with standard fishing line as well with the same result. Fished down to 150-200' without any non-fish strike release problems and fish strike releases were always clean releases.I went with the RC-90's for the additional 31" leader distance from the weight so I could attach a 5-10' inline spinning flasher rig attached to the lead weight for additional attraction. Worked great with no tangles as I was running a rolling flasher/lure rig on the release clip. Another option with the inline spinning flasher attached to the lead weight, you can run a lure/bait only rig on the release clip without a flasher and when a fish strikes there’s no flasher drag so less lost fish. It's nice to have that 31" leader distance from the lead weight too as I've been known to "bottom drag" on multiple occasions, and more often than not, it'll keep the lures from fouling up and staying clean and true allowing you to catch more fish between sets.I've used the RC-95, just a release clip with no leader, that attached to the downrigger clip and then clips to the lead weight, and the RC-95 sits a couple of inches above the lead weight. These RC-95 release clips work great too and the fishing line does not tangle up with the lead weights even when set this close to the lead weight. Just watch those "bottom drags"!These release clips work great for fresh water Trout and Kokanee too as they are easily adjustable to accommodate lighter rigs with 4lb test line.A great "set it and forget it" product, and I buy the "used" offerings when available at under $9 and they all look like they've never been used? I'd rather spend the money on Lures and Flashers any day!FISH ON!!

consistant
These are far better than rubber bands or pinch pads. They are adjustable and simple to use.

Works great
Put this on my downrigger cable then connected my weight to this. Did some adjustments and caught salmon. This is my preferred release now due to ability to easily adjust the release

Best downrigger release yet
This is the only rigger release I use when salmon fishing. Gives you perfect control over release tension . Just set it and forget it

Work great!!
These releases work better than the alligator style that I have used for years. Use the for Trout and Kokanee on No California lakes.

False Advertising
It says on the packaging it will fit any downrigger, but no it won't. The clips that come with Scotty Downriggers are too large to accept the eye of the release. You will have to buy a coupler to go between the two. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the release, but it would be nice to know what is needed ahead of time.

This is the best release for fishing should knock or c this is the best release for fishing chinook and coho
This release is amazing. I used this release today. I did not have any issues with them whatsoever. I was able to fish 180 to 200 feet of water no problem. I have been using Scotty releases up till now, there was no way to get them down that depth without over setting them. I will buy these releases from here on out

Great release
I really like this release. Easy to adjust and easy to use. Less expensive the the Chamberlin but gets the job done very well.

Highly Recommend!!!
Wow! What a time saver instead of using the clasp type and trying to adjust the correct tension on it. This worked on first try! Highly recommend!!! For information on how to set up rigging do this. 1. Search for [...]. 2. Scroll down to Lake Michigan Angler and click on it. 3. When web page comes up click on "tackle shop". 4. Click on "click on category" in white box and select "fishing line releases". 5. Click on Blacks Releases and that will give you diagrams for different rigging set-ups.

Great release
I was using a Scotty release that clipped onto my wire, but these are very nice and do not slip. Almost always release perfectly.
