6 x Black Bob Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese Wax Truckle 200g - Cheese Multibuy

Bought for a friend who says it is the very best cheddar.Good value.

I have to say this cheese is the best full flavoured extra strong mature cheddar that I have been able to lay my hand on since the 1970sAll those supermarket stuff that promise the same always fall short, but this Black Bob really delivers a punch of flavour.I kid you not if you are from the days before there were supermarkets and you used to buy from the local neighborhood store.It crumbles on cutting although it has a soft creamy texture and delivers exactly what it says on the packet.This cheese is not for the sandwich as it would be a waste but for those who like to have it with a ploughman's, alone with homemade bread or with biscuits ( those for cheese ) not your custard cream.It arrived well packed with what appears to be a set of small ice blocks, each cheese has a thick black wax jacket protection and has a long shelf life and it's excellent value.The only problem that I now have is I can't stop eating it plus I will be busy baking bread.I highly recommend that you try this cheese!*Please note that the picture shows specks of black on the cheese? This is due to me cutting it with the wax coating on and not in the cheese.*

I would describe this as a very tasty and "moreish" processed cheese.However, living as I do, a short distance from Cheddar Gorge, I can tell you this bears little resemblance to a portion cut from a mature truckle.

Nicest mature cheddar I have ever tried, had a box set for Christmas and had to order more of the black bob as it just so moreish,Amazing flavour and taste you will not be disappointed.

I don't understand why it's creamy, but then I don't fully understand the process. Nonetheless, this cheese is extremely tasty, and I mean extremely. Absolutely delicious and has salt crystals in the creaminess. Unusual in this respect. In a cheese sauce, if you go in too heavy this would remove the skin from the roof of your mouth. It's the absolute tits. I will definitely buy again. Fiery, salty and mature - it'll make your eyelids sweat. Not sure of the shelf-life of it so vacuum-packed immediately to be sure of 5 months+ longevity by which time it'll be weapons-grade and arguably somewhat agreeably antisocial. No visible cracks in the black wax which indicates their love of their product and good care taken during packing. Top seller. I wholeheartedly recommend.
