Q: I have the GTE 8000 in silver had them for allmost 12 years there great would u say that these are betting or on the same level???

It is on of the replacement of the GTE8000. Due to better Features, this reel is smoother, lighter then your reel. no comparison to the older one, much better!

Q: Can anyone recommend what line to use for this reel? small to medium carp so im guessing some 8lb line?

Bullet proof!!

A strong, sturdy and reliable reel!! Can't fault it, bought the 6000 size for pike fishing, loaded plenty of 15lb mono, and 65lb braid on the spare spool. Smooth drag and easy maintenance, should last a lifetime so long as you look after them!!
