You’d have to be crazy to write this.
It’s a venture into a mind where everything is turning up at once. Moments of brilliance are mixed with babble and flights of fancy. Not for the reader who expects a linear story. There isn’t one that I could get my head around.

Flickering flames captured in a book
The book is a surreal, stream of consciousness, like a series of Rorschach images painted with words or a free association exercise expanded into a book. An internal monologue captured on paper. It’s best read slowly, or dipped into randomly, savouring each image the words, almost haphazardly assembled, conjure in your mind. There appears to be no inherent meaning. Instead, the images are conjured in much the same hypnotic, deeply relaxing, way you might conjure images when gazing into the flickering flames of a comforting fire on a dark winter’s night. It defies conventional review. Privately published I’m not surprised it didn’t appeal to a conventional mainstream commercial publisher as it would be difficult to find a mass market. All the more credit to Frances for her persistence in writing the book and supporting its launch on an unsuspecting world. One line reads “Write and have it read.” Frances has written. I’d recommend you read.

Inspiring...unusual.
I use this book to stimulate the imagination...for when I am stuck for ideas when writing song lyrics etc.

Fabulously different!
This book has a wonderfully rambling narrative that takes you on an adventure of words and ideas. It follows Fran's thoughts and does so in no particular order. It starts with Dunc (a fascinating character) and as with all thought processes, the train of thought digresses from it's origin before taking you along another path many times - almost ad infinitum. I found myself reading at 100 miles an hour at one point as the pace of the writing carries you along and I had to force myself to slow down so I didn't miss anything. A refreshingly different book that you should just read and enjoy with an open mind. It may not be to everyone's taste as there is not a traditional plot, but for me this is what makes it an enchanting and interesting read.
