fun outdoor activity
It was something fun to do with my sons!

Reached 7215 ft above sea level. We live at 7200 ft above sea level :)
The media could not be loaded. For young kids this is good. Two of my grandkids are sound sensitive. This is pretty quite. Still spooked the 4 year old. The kit contained the baking soda and citric acid. Had enough for three flights, baking soda ran out first.First three flights were fine. I don't know about 30ft but much more than 1-3 ft some experienced. Also my first three flight went in ~30 seconds. The 4th flight took longer to go. I used baking soda I had for a while. It may have lost some fizz. I used hot water for all flights which may have helped with sooner take off and more height. I also pushed in the tube with the baking soda until the flange on the stopped bottomed put on the rocket. Not an Estes rocket so don't expect too much.

Great height and kid safe!
Absolutely goes 30ft, probably more. If you're having trouble here's some tips. You can use just vinegar and baking soda (incase you don't want to deal with Walmart on a weekend when the kids want to do this), or you replace the vinegar with a mix of water and citric acid. If it's taking forever warm the water/vinegar, it just needs to be warm, not hot! Give it a shake before you put it on the base. A quick shake, literally 1 shake. If you go a little too hard it will take off in your face and citric acid in the eye isn't all that fun. Make sure to pack the center core, if you don't you're gonna have a wimpy flight. Definitely a great way to introduce kids to rockets, much safer and cheaper too!

Doesn't really live up for the height
We got this kit at Walmart. Walmart version is the same, except it does not include baking soda and citric acid (which was really disappointing). This kit on Amazon appears to include both, so no complaints there for sure. However, the results seem to vary drastically. We used measuring cups and spoons to be sure we had the right amounts, and sometimes it would go 15ft, sometimes it would go 10ft, and one time it went 3ft and barely went off at all after a really long time waiting. We have yet to get it to go 30ft.From what I can tell, the height relates to how wet the tube insert is and how much baking soda is loose vs stuck to the tube. The first go round had very little sticking and went the highest. As the tube got progressively more caked with baking soda, it took longer and went lower.

IT WORKS- BEST IN CLASS!!!
IT WORKS!!! WAIT FOR EXPLOSION!! This totally works- I showed in the pic to fill reaction tube one quarter of the way w/ baking soda and fill the rocket one quarter w/ citric acid or vinegar. Push in reaction tube well- put on stand and step back— it will fly!! I’ve bought about 8 rockets of this sort and this one WORKS!! It may have delay in lifting time- be patient!

Great toy!
Follow the directions = successful launch. Good toy and teaches kids about science and chemistry! If the rocket isn’t going high or shooting off, the center core isn’t pushed in hard enough.
