100% Failure in less than 6 months.
Ordered January 6, 2018, broke June 15, 2018. This cable received light use, about 1/2 hour per day.The plastic coating is probably not UV rated, and cracked in several places, resulting in a major rust issue. It finally failed today, just in from the yellow plastic "crimp covers" and our recently rescued dog went on a walkabout. The seller's assertion: "Structure feature crimp covers to protect cable ends from weakening due to rain and rust." is not the truth. This is exactly where and how this cable failed.***Do NOT buy this product.***

Safety risk
If you have a small dog under ten lbs this is a good light weight leash that cleans easy. BUT if your dog chews leashes this won’t last long and it’s dangerous possibly lethal . My dog chewed through both sides within about 2-3 months of use. When she did the first time the sharp frayed wires under the plastic were exposed and highly dangerous. They got stuck in her fur and cut into her skin. I needed wire cutters to sever the leash and then had to try to hold down my wiggling dog and use a combo of scissors and clippers to shave her fur off and get this leash off about 45 min later. Luckily the wires didn’t get stuck in her skin and I could pull them out but this did ruin my Cavachons coat which is medium length double coat and still hasn’t grown back right under her belly. I should have learned my lesson but I switched the end of the leash thinking I’ll watch her better since I know this now and she did good but we let her out one time unsupervised and it she did it again this time exposing the wires by chewing and getting it stuck in her fur again and then ended up cutting her gums up trying to chew it off her fur since she was in pain. Luckily we caught her before it was to late. DO NOT buy this if your dog has any potential to chew. We were lucky this wasnt a vet trip. And to put perspective my dog was about 3-5 lbs the first time she chewed it with her baby teeth and maybe 5-8 the second time she did. She’s is under 6m and her teeth are little so beware your pets safety and invest in something safer. This isn’t a durable leash for dogs that chew so I’m switching to fabric or nylon. The only way I recommend this is if your dog is supervised by you the entire time on the leash because any dog if bored or left alone has the potential to chew. This isn’t worth it the vet visit, harming your fur baby, or a trip to the groomer to have your fur baby shaved especially if you have a double coat dog to risk ruining their coat over the damage this can do.

A NICE, STRONG CABLE EXCEPT FOR ONE THING!
We use this cable to restrain our 13 pound, 8 year old cat, Buddy when he wants to be outside. After using this cable successfully several times, one day buddy saw a squirrel and the chase was on. We expected Buddy would be restrained when he came to the end of the tether. WRONG! Oh, the cable held up perfectly, however, the rivet that connects the snap to the swivel, broke cleanly in two and Buddy was off and running. The chase came to an end when the squirrel ran up a tree and Buddy gave up and was easily apprehended. It appears that rivet is the weakest link.

Quick to rust
UPDATE:After 6 months, the cable has completely snapped. My dog was roaming around with half a cable attached to him, thankfully not harmed or killed by being run over. This is a piece of junk.ORIGINAL REVIEW:The clips on both ends have rusted after just a few months, and the rust is now rubbing off on to my dog's collar & making it a gross brown mess. For a tie out that is designed to be outside, I'm quite disappointed. It also came packaged in a way that it had some sharp kinks in the line that still haven't "relaxed" to this day.

Broke and my 25 lb dog got free
You know what isn’t fun? Chasing a dog all over your neighborhood because the cable broke! So disappointed. The only plus side was the workout I got from the half hour spent running around my neighborhood trying to catch my dog.

My 60lb dog was able to break it in less then 15 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND
I bought this cable based on reviews and that it stated the product could withstand a dog weighing up to 125lbs. I received the product this morning and within 15 minutes of putting my 60lb Siberian Husky on the leash he went after a bunny in the yard and the end of the metal claps of the leash snapped off. It was a good thing that I decided to stay out and pull a few weeds so I was able to react fast enough to catch my 1 year old high energy and extremely fast fur baby before he could totally bolt in the major highway I live on. If you love your four legged babies I do not recommend this product. If this product was supposed to handle 125lbs and my 60lb dog could break it in a matter of minutes, I would not trust this. I cannot comment on “chew proof” because he didn’t even get a chance to “taste” it before it broke. See picture attached for the proof. As for “stretch” we’ll obviously it did not since it broke. 100% positive this was not “sturdy”.

Really good value for a really reasonable price.
This is the 3rd or 4th tie out cable from the same company. I leave them outside all the time and eventually the clasps become difficult to open but that's after years of exposure. The cable is really good. I've never had one break and the coating shielding stays on forever. Really good value for a really reasonable price.

Nice way to keep my dog from wandering out of a campsite
Bought this to keep my dog from wandering off while camping - he likes to hunt for critters. Works great. I just attach one end to the picnic table and the other to his leash or harness, then I can unpack the car, cook, sit by the campfire all without having to hold a leash or keep calling him to come. Looking forward to using it in the summer months when we go to picnics and BBQs.

Just what I needed!
Perfect for my two small dogs to let out on my patio of apartment building. The latches do freeze up around -8 though but love how light and small they are and do not have huge metal clips, so they are perfect for small dogs.

Not for cold weather use.
My dog is 52 lbs and not a big tugger. When the cable kinks in minus temperatures the covering cracks and then it’s just a mater of time before the cable breaks. No problems in the summer.
