Been using this in Houston for 3 yrs. It hasn’t been effective this year. Anyone else having trouble and know why?

I’m in Houston too. Here’s what I found works for our pool that gets no shade. I have two aerators for a 20k gallon pool
Run the pump at night for a minimum of 10-12 hours. It’s enough time to turn the water over. I do 8pm-8am

Question 2

What is the best way to run these?  We live in Texas. We just installed yesterday and trying to figure out if we should run overnight and during day?

I run mine pretty much 24/7, and it’s worth it. These work because they expose multiple streams of water to the air, resulting in evaporation, which is what cools the water. Same principal as a swamp cooler. The drier the air, the better they work, night or day. In heavy humidity, they don’t work well, again, night or day. I live in north Texas, and I find they work best when we get into the hundreds because there’s typically less humidity then.

Question 3

I assembled incorrectly. L shaped piece is now stuck to the straight piece. How do I take apart to point the mist the correct direction?

you will have to pull them apart to correctly assemble the cooler try to swivel the L shaped fitting from left to right while pulling the straight piece.

Question 4

I have an older in ground pool and it won't fit in my return jet. Are there any adpators to make it fit?

Yes you can make your own , with a piece of pvc pipe insert in the hole of your existing fitting and elbow with our pool cooler fitting
