Nice App, Nice Everything... But 3 Probes Have Now Broken
I've had this for almost 2 years, so I guess you have to figure that in when you think about it's overall value. As far as the unit and how it functions, I'm a big fan. I've used it for years now, and I love being able to change plugs and presets, without having to fuss with the app... I've got 1 and 4 preset to chicken, 2 and 5 programmed to Medium-Rare, and 3 and 6 left without presets (just to track the temps, no alerts, by my preference). Anyway, I can use the base and probes without the app, just by using the different plugs. The base will still register the last preset selected for each port/plug location. Try it out and you'll see what I mean. So as far as the app and how the bluetooth works, I've never had any issues with it. The app will alert you if it loses connection with the base, but not the other way around (closing the app won't make the base beep, but turning the base off will make the app beep). The function of the unit is great, I can't think of anything else to do, other than a complete overhaul with touchscreen and stuff like that, but that's not this unit. This unit is really good at what it does. The reason it has a 3 star rating is because I have had 3 of my 6 probes fail on me now. I can't find anywhere to buy replacement probes, and it doesn't have any warranty information that I can find. So once my other 3 probes crap out, then I'll be left checking other probes to see if they'll work. I've tried 3 kinds from Amazon so far with no luck, but I'll keep looking... I don't want to have to drop over $50+ for a whole new set, when it's just the probes that are failing. Hopefully the manufacturer will see this review and answer some of the questions asked about replacement probes and warranty claims in the Questions section... That would help me raise my rating back up to the 5 stars it would have, if I had 6 working probes, or a way to get 6 working probes... Fingers crossed.

High-Quality Meat Temperature System Is the Best Yet
I've had several remote meat thermometers over the years, but this is the best one yet. Of its six (!) quick-responding probes, so far I've only used two of them to keep track of a pork roast we slow-cooked today. This system worked like a champ. I could watch its slow warming progress on its associated iPhone app as I worked in my home office all day, and I set an alarm to alert me when the temperature reached the safety zone for pork. You can also set a timer if you wish.Of course, we wanted to cook the shoulder roast for a few hours longer than that to really get that slow-cooked goodness, but it was useful to track progress. Take a look at my pics and you'll see the blue and red probes in the meat, and then there's a screenshot of the app's readouts for both. I've only scratched the surface with this techno-marvel!Next, we'll try barbecuing some chicken on the outdoor grill ... as soon as the temperature climbs back above zero! Until then, our slow-cooking routine is starting to look like a cross between a hospital bed in the ICU and a science project, much to my lovely yet tech-averse wife's chagrin. Well, that's progress for ya!

Finally decided to get a smart thermometer because i just got a green egg and I have been smoking meats quite often. This device allows you forget about your meat once it starts smoking and go about your daily life. It connects to the app on your cell phone and beeps once it reaches the set temperature. Beware, the alarm is LOUD!!, it woke a sleeping baby on the 2nd floor. it was louder than the carbon monoxide detector in the house. Also has preset temperatures for all kinds of meat, so no extra googling required ;), basically makes your life easy. Also, you can monitor temperatures for upto 6 different items at once, which is great. 6 is an overkill for me but I have used 2 many times for brisket and chicken at the same time. I have used this about 5 or 6 times so far and I love it. I hope it lasts.

Perfectly done, every time.
This thermometer rocks. Not only is it extremely accurate, the app that you download to go along with it is amazing. What's more, the temperatures recommend on the app take into account the cooking that occurs after you take your meat off the grill or out of the oven. So everything you cook comes out perfectly done, the way you like it. I chronically overcook my wife's steaks more than the medium rare she likes. With this, I've cooked 4 steaks just the way she likes them. If you don't use the app, it still works great on its own, and you can use up to 6 probes. This has taken so much of the guesswork out of our cooking, it's like a dream come true.

Fantastic
This is perfect for smoking meat, especially when using different meats at the same time. Only downside is when your phone goes out of range you lose the history (graphs) but you connect seamlessly when you return.

Bluetooth connection not good.
Only used it once but temps seemed to be spot on. The bluetooth range was maybe 10 feet. My Weber igrill mini has 2 to 3 times the range. I can not recommend this device and will most likely be returning it. If you stay within 6-8 feet or use it in your house it might be for you.

Good inside or out.
I liked mine so much that I bought my son one. Wonder if your oven temp is correct? This exactly matched the temperature on my old oven thermometer. I use it in my kitchen as well as outdoors. I will often put a pork butt in the oven with ALL of the probes in it. Lots of fun.

Pretty awesome if you're going to cook multiple things at once. The bluetooth feature is worth it, not having to run outside and check is perfect. My only complaint is that the alarm on the phone and unit is loud and has that shrieking fire alarm sound to it. It makes me think there's a tornado alert LOL.
