Both were prepped meticulously and then a couple of coats applied. The finish is a dead flat black bordering on grey. It's not the easiest paint to apply without seeing lines in the finish, I would suggest several coats at 90Β° to each other in order to minimise the tiger stripe effect. The other picture is an exhaust silencer, I ran out of paint for a proper second coat on this one so I have ordered another can. The previous can did both the manifold and the back box. As for longevity, the paint on the exhaust manifold showed a little rust coming through after two years, which is not too bad, although the car doesn't get used much it does run for 3-4 hours when it is used for off roading. For best results the paint needs to be cured by operating the device or whatever it's painted onto for at least an hour, with a gradual build up in temperature.
