BehringerXenyx 1002SFX 10-channel Analog Streaming Mixer

Just what I was looking for, mixes plenty of different audio signals with appropriate level controls and the ability to do some on-board effects. Things to note, the outbound effects send is MONO but the return is Stereo so if you need Stereo SEND this may not work for you. Also the overall signal gain slider indicates it goes down to -infinity db but this doesn't seem to work in practice -- I see a relatively linear decrease until around -20db and then it kind of drops off and there is still a moderate amount of audio output when I slide down to -infinity, which is surprising. This may be unique to my unit and for me it's not a big deal but something to look for. It is much smaller than my older Alto Professional with more inputs but it does get a little warm. I just turn it off when not in use (there is a button on the back). Overall a great unit for the price so far.

I had purchased the next model up, the QX1202USB about ten years ago and am still using it for my home Karaoke theater. I recently purchased this 1002SFX and a pair of Sure microphones to do a similar setup for a friend, so I pretty much knew what to expect.All the mixers in this Behringer lineup are top-notch. The mic pre-amps are excellent, you have good headroom throughout the entire signal path, proper scaling on all the level controls, and a functional effects processor for adding just a bit of reverb to the mics. I suppose I would prefer four microphone inputs rather than 2, with fewer line-level inputs ... but overall the configuration is fine (and the larger model with 4 mic inputs really isn't that much more expensive).

This mixer is very quiet and solid. The connectors work great, and the effects are wonderful. I have not yet tried recording via the usb bus though.

This is my second Behringer Xenyx 10 channel mixer; my first, purchased in 2006, is still going strong. These Xenyx mixers are ready (and easy) to piggyback, which is what I've done. The British EQ's make my various acoustic guitars sound so warm, full, and beautiful. I use these mixers for dynamic (condenser/cardioid) mics, electric guitars, keyboards, MIDI sound modules, etc. This newer Xenyx 1002SFX model contains many high quality sound effects that my earlier, 1002FX model doesn't have ... and vice-versa. For music production, these FX's provide professional results every time.This Behringer Xenyx 1002SFX was fulfilled by SWEETWATER, another class act company who I give high praise for their selection, prices, customer service.There are a ton of choices out there if you're looking for a sound mixer, and many will be too concerned about the lower price of Behringer's Xenyx mixers ... that they might not be as good as higher priced alternatives. I've used a lot of large and small soundboards/mixers throughout my career, and this little guy provides consistently professional sound output, for any price, and has been my favorite for those reasons.

I have 2 turntables and a mixer, sampler, and drum machine hooked up to it. No complaints, does what it do. The FX sounds add that little extra something to everything.

If you ever loose the power supply, this mixer becomes worthless. I can't find a replacement anywhere. It seems it was made just for this one mixer. Everything works fine, but eventually all power supplies die after a few years. Once that happens, you'll probly have to throw the whole mixer away.
