They are rawhide and made in China

Q: Are these boots a wide fit?

I can not strictly answer this question. Buying any type of clothing without first trying on carries a risk. For my part, I have a wide forefoot, a normal arch and a narrow heel. I purchase a size 9.5 in a shoe but for the hills I purchase a size UK10 and use 2 pair of thick socks to provide general cushion and local protection and that is what I do with these work boots. There are always various inserts if you have special needs and these boots are certainly not narrow but until you try them own you can't be sure. Good luck

Q: Are these boots steel toe?

I have not managed to wear through the leather to find out if they are steel or composite. However I can say that I have dropped some very heavy items which would have damaged my toes and the top of my foot without injury. They are the best safety boots I haveever owned, for comfort, grip and support on slopes, and in both summer and winter they have been both cool and warm.
