Without Warning (Cobalt Security Book 1)

MM Bodyguard Romance
Ryder is given a job protecting Harrison Trudel who has a stalker that’s getting bold. Harrison & Ryder don’t hit it off as Harrison doesn’t like rich privileged people ( he has his reasons which are Tod further in) and Harrison hates how abrupt Ryder is towards his friends and he hates Ryder telling him what to do even though he’s protecting his life . I really enjoyed this book even though I’d guessed who the unsub was pretty early on it didn’t spoil anything when it was uncovered .

🥰
I enjoyed this story and it had plenty of action, it also had plenty of suspects so it kept me guessing. First time reading this author and I’m looking forward to reading more of their books.

Definitely a must have
Another new series to look forward to. Harrison has just walked away from a relationship that was just after his wealth but in his late fathers will he has to marry within the next 8months or loose the family business. This has become common knowledge and all the worms crawl out of the woodwork, but when he starts getting threatening letters in the post his uncle hires Cobolt Security. In walks Ryder and sparks start to fly with Ryder’s brash way of doing things and the fact Harrison absolutely does not want a bodyguard. It’s a great read which keeps you guessing as to who is the psycho and I’m so looking forward to the next book

1st full length outing for Cobalt Security
The bodyguard trope is a well-trodden path, it's no secret. Harrison's stalker case, which brings Ryder into his life, isn't completely original but it does create the basis for a decent suspense plot (it's fiction, so I'm choosing to ignore the bigger holes in the plot) and a romance that, for me, lacks a bit of balance. I'm definitely good with the slow burn and Ryder's reticence given Harrison is his protectee and the way in which he's been burned before. I'm not so good with the speed the guys went from admitting catching feelings to declarations and proposals.I usually like this author's work more, so I'll give book two a whirl but it's 3* from me for Without Warning.

An easy read
A big protective bodyuard and his pretty, smaller client. Low angst and easy reading. There is some action but nothing heart stopping. A slow burn but definite HEA. Lots of characters, which I imagine are for other following books.

3.75⭐
This is my first introduction to the author and series, and Without Warning was a satisfying and engaging read. That had a nice mix of suspense and romance. But it never really captured my imagination, and Harrison, and Ryder didn't really excite me as a couple. Furthermore, the revelation as to who the stalker was didn't necessarily come as a surprise, but the confrontation did have me on the edge-of-my-seat. And the characters from Cobalt Security, and Ryder's family were interesting and likable; and as starts to series go this one certainly had potential. So much so, I would check out more books from the series and author in the future.

It's a quite good thriller...
It's a quite good thriller with a number of obvious flaws. Let it be said that I hope I never employ a security agency that is so inefficient. It is not the story though but the grammatical issues that I found too distracting. For example, the use of 'drug' instead of dragged, the misuse of 'I' and 'me' and the sentence structures that that felt so awkward I would get stuck, reframing them into English, before I could move on.

So good, I didn’t want to put it down, really enjoyed it. To think I was iffy about reading it as I really just wanted Logan’s story but I’m happy I didn’t skip it

I enjoyed the story, although the terms of Harrison’s father’s will is a little hard to swallow. And the overworked billionaire theme more than a little fantastical. Three of them in one story? Plus Warren, Ryder’s ex, seems more than a little off putting...trying to take his house away in the divorce? Not cool. On the other hand, Ashley is a great friend, , the secluded cabin section is good, and so is the spectacle of all those men chasing Harrison for a chance at marriage and a ton of money. We get a final reward in the shape of a bull mastiff puppy. And of course, a love story that warmed my heart.

All the action and all the sweetness
Reese did it again with her new series. I loved Ryder and Harrison. They worked well as a pair and without.Their story was sweet and fun and full of those action sequences that Reese is known for in her writing.I enjoyed this different direction with the bodyguard. We were introduced to Cobalt Security at the end of book 4 of the Phoenix books. The relationship between Ryder and Harrison was a lovely slow burn as Ryder learned to trust Harrison and Harrison felt enough to give his heart away. The action sequences were gripping and I was glued to the page, hoping for a good result. If you love action, the awesome bodyguard and slow burn, take this lovely book for a ride. You won’t regret it
