Didn't expect much because of the price. It was only a kids present for Christmas which I imaged would get abandoned. But I'll admit as a 32 year old mum I'm obsessed. I'm looking at everything, the quality is fantastic. Super clear screen. I even checked my nails after washing and it can pick up things you can see and I'm disgusted ill never bite my nails again. Everything has been under this microscope and I'm genuinely shocked at what things look like up close. It's amazing. Great gift for kids (and adults) who may find these things fascinating. Image is clearer in real life, taking a photo of a screen is difficult. For £30 it's mindblowing. Must buy!

Bought as a birthday gift for a young explorer, my 6 year old nephew.Everyone is very impressed with this microscope, the screen is fantastic and even the packaging felt premium, much more than expected from a microscope at this price level.My only drawback, is that the frame is a bit flexible, so when using the up/down adjustment or focus, it is quite easy to flex the frame.Why did you choose this product over others?:Looked cool and easy to use for my young nephew, and it was!

Microscope is fantastic value for money and easy to set up. Perfect for my 8-year-old.Fantastic customer service too. My microscope stopped connecting to my PC camera after over a year of use, and after helping me troubleshoot without success the seller just sent me a new one.

If you want to see the whole of the coin this is not for you. It is good for zooming in on detail. The booklet with details needs to be accessible in pdf format on line as it is too small to read in physical form. I wanted to be able to capture the whole of the coin and then the details but it is impossible to do using the item purchased. It appears to be well built. Maybe if it came with longer stem it would be able to see the whole of the coin.

Does great images, and much easier for an child to use than a real microscope. Especially since the adult can also see what they are seeing and help them focus and get the right part into the image. Finally, the price is unbeatable. As a former scientist using £10k+ microscope (which of course are better), I am really impressed with this budget kid's microscope. As it's inexpensive and portable, and doesn't need a computer, this is also great to take out in the garden or even on adventure walks.For the tech-geeks: it's basically just a webcam with a clever lens arrangement and an attached LCD screen. For kids, I would highly recommend this version with screen over the versions that need a pc.

The stand is quite flimsy such that when focusing you actually fled the stand whilst adjusting the focus or magnification and you have to continually take your hands off to see where you are. Not helped by the focussing dovetail being very tight but I assume it will loosen with use The camera side is quite good and once you have the hang of it gives god clear images.I made the mistake (not helped by the lack of instructions) off putting the focus head into the mount upside down which gave a very loose fit but turning it the right way up made the camera a much better fitAll in all it’s ok for the money and I’m sure I’ll have fun with it I’m mainly using it for coins and other finds made by metal detecting

We bought this for our son who loves nature. He’s looked at leaves, bark and lichen under the microscope and the amount he has been able to zoom in is incredible, with amazing clarity! I would definitely buy this for someone else.
