Myers PickupsThe Feather-2 Accordion Pickup with 2 Flexible Micro-Gooseneck Mics

The microphone is despatched direct from the manufacturer. The unit is supplied with a carrying bag and several different mounting options to suit most instruments. I'm using this microphone on an English concertina and, as supplied, none of the mountings will work satisfactorily by themselves, this is because of the construction of the instrument. There is not enough room between the thumb straps and the instrument to easily use the crocodile clips, neither is there enough room to use the plastic slide on clips or any surface which is big enough to take the suction cup.I solved the problem simply by making a bracket which fits under the thumb strap screw (between the screw and the strap to avoid damaging your instrument) and then simply using whichever mounting you are happy with. Other supplied items are :-1. a belt clip for the control/volume unit2. spare battery (one is fitted from the factory)3. self adhesive Velcro type pads for mounting belt clip on the control unit4. two foam wind guards for the microphones5. operating and battery changing instructions6. a contact card for your records. The control box is constructed in lightweight plastic and has a volume control and a standard jack output. The unit is low impedance however 'Myers' recommend that it is used via a DI box to match impedances with your system. The microphones do not need 48v phantom power.The microphone worked straight out of the box and after fitting the brackets mentioned above mounting was straightforward. There was a clean response over all the range and there were no problems with feedback despite sitting within 6 feet of the speakers.The microphones didn't add any unwanted colour or background noise into the signal and they did produce an accurate sound on my instrument.CONCLUSION:The system gives mounting solutions for several different instruments as supplied (although not an English concertina, see above).The system is lightweight.It does exactly what it says on the box with no drama or surprisesI am not sure how the plastic construction of the control box would stand up to life on the road, only time will tell.I would recommend this system to anyone who is trying to amplify an English concertina.

I have been looking to purchase a pickup system that would allow my wife to have the freedom to nothave to utilize clumsy "Stand" based microphones which get in the way at the best of times!Also to have crystal clear reproduction of the rich sound produced by her beautifully hand made "Suttner" TC Anglo Concertina, C/G. The instrument in itself took over a year and a half to be handmade & to arrive from Jurgen Suttner from commissioning him to build it for my wife to its arrival in our hands. So purchasing the Myers "Feather -2" was an absolute "Must"Concertinas by nature of design/construction & use are not easy to mike close up!This pickup is to be married to the "Audio Adaptor" kit made by Gregg Myers company that allows it to be directly streamed via various devices and also recorded in high quality "Matched" audio.I've read on many occasions of Traditional Musicians of whom say, the Myers pick ups allow for an inobtrusive, lightweight system that produces quality audio transmission to a live audience, recording of tracks in a studio. Or coupled with the "Livestream Studio" streaming on various platformsAll in all, for my wife & I and the instruments we play Myers produce a system that ticks all the boxesWhilst I'm here I'd like to thank Founder of Myers Pick ups, Gregg Myers for his excellent advice & assistance in my queries.Great Job Mike......
