Q: Will this chair suppor 300lbs - 400lbs?

Advertised @ 350. We have tested it to 300

Q: Do you have to put the arm rests on?

No. The only issue I have is that I need it at the tallest seat height and after using it for about a week, the center post wedged down into the base making it shorter. I'm trying to come up with a solution.
