DEWALT Atomic Compact Series 30 ft. Tape Measure (DWHT38130S)

I've been using this tape for about a week now. Some of the reviews indicated that the hook on the end was loose and affected the accuracy of the ruler. I discovered I had exactly the same problem. However, upon examination I realized that if the rivets were set better, it would put it back into an accurate position. For that reason I used a peen hammer and was able to tighten up the rivets to where they do not slip anymore. It didn't take very much pressure and I did not hammer hard. Just a few taps and things tightened right up. It is now dead on accurate.I like the heft and feel of the housing of the tape in my hand. I enjoy the separate finger break underneath and the regular locking mechanism works well. I also enjoy that I can stretch the tape out somewhere between 10 and 11 ft before it kinks and falls. That's much better than the other tapes that I've been using.I hope that it will last as long as it feels like it will.

Just like all of the tools by DeWalt, they are perfect for novice users and doing projects around the house. It’s very durable and easy to maneuver. The tape length is sixty inches fully extended which is all I need for the projects I’m doing around the house.The tape itself is very flexible in measuring uneven edges such as window frames. It’s great for all kinds of projects that require measuring. It measures with precision and accuracy. It’s not bulky or too heavy so it’s very easy to use. For the price of it, it’s a good purchase for professionals or novice users. The spring action is very strong so care must be taken when rolling the tape back. A great buy!

This tape measure works great and feels very durable—exactly what you’d expect from DeWalt. It’s easy to use with smooth retraction and clear markings. The only downside is that it's a bit on the heavier side, but that also adds to its sturdy, professional feel.

Nice tape measure. I like the design and wasn’t expecting anything new or innovative in tape measures after 60 years but it’s pretty useful having the finger hold slot. Markings are nice and readable. Lock is smooth. I’m pretty happy with this tape measure after a few months of occasional use on projects.

Absolutely love this tape measure. I used it while helping my husband in the garage cut pieces of wood! Easy to read! Accurate!

The tape is very stiff, it holds up to 9 feet or so before it bends and falls, impressive. The stop for holding the tape is just a hole you press your finger in to hold it from retracting.It is pretty heavy. The Atomic branding had me believing the tool would be lighter. However it seems extremely durable and I am satisfied overall. If I bought again I may have gone for a shorter length to save on weight.

You can never go wrong with Dewalt!! The wall tools are the best of my opinion. The price for this tape measure is right, the quality is superb.
