Good quality leather. It will be useful for several projects.

At first glance this leather almost looked like it was faux leather. Upon further inspection, it is real leather. The description says it's full grain leather. It is. The kicker here is that the leather is so fine and consistent you cannot see a discernable texture in the grain. For example, this is the same grain texture you might find in a pair of polished leather boots or shoes. It's really nice leather. It's incredibly soft and super strong. This is not thick tooling leather. It's only about 0.04" thick.This is awesome leather for making wallets, handbags etc. This leather would not be good for Stamping or engraving of any kind. Even if you soften it with water, it doesn't retain stamp details very well.My one complaint is the flaking off of fine leather particles on the flesh side. It was covering my work area while I was making a wallet. Burnishing might help, but I haven't tried it yet.Also,the flesh side does have some color transfer on your hands or contact surfaces. It's not much at all but it will definitely transfer if you aren't careful.

I purchased this leather sheet to use in craft projects. I am new to working with leather and at first, it was intimidating to cut into this quality piece. I was able to cut the leather with a pair of 6” scissors without trouble. I then used a die cut machine and journal cutting die to try my hand at making something. I made a leather travelers notebook cover easily. This leather cuts perfectly with the popular die cut machine thick dies. As I build confidence, I will be looking for more colors and products from this seller. Recommend.

The 4 sq ft of tooling leather came tightly rolled up and wrapped in plastic for protection. The cognac colored piece I received arrived in perfect condition, with no marks, blemishes or scratches. I was also glad to see that the leather was just slightly over 24” x 24” by about 1/8” to 1/4” on a side. I always like to get the quantity promised or better, and in this case it was better by a little.I measured the thickness to be ~1.81mm or 4-5 oz leather, also what was in the description. I would say that the temper is medium to medium-firm.Even through this is full grain leather it almost looks a little fake, since the top surface looks so perfect. I guess I’ll have to put some wear marks in it :-).I’ve only been leather working for a 4-5 years now as a hobby and this looks like a nice piece of full grain leather that I’ll use for some gusset bags to store kitchen and shop tools in.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of this leather! It's very smooth and supple, and the color density is amazing. The suede back of the sheet is nice enough to be used on the outside of a piece. I bought this to make a small leather tote, and it will make a beautiful bag. I'm really happy with this, and will definitely buy again in the future. Highly recommend!!
