Perfect size and amount of pockets and compartments for the price.The zips are chunky and well sewn, the stitching throughout is very well done, and the finishing is excellent too.2 mesh side pockets, I would think a solid fabric with a zip would be better. All in all a very nice item at a competitive price.Five stars

I bought this backpack to go on the 4 day Inca Trail, it had all the necessary features, comfortable to wear, the stretchy strings at front were useful to carry around jacket or fleece when not wearing it, side pockets for water also very useful, the only negative thing I have to say about it is that the bottom straps are quite short, I just about managed to strap in my 3-4 seasons sleeping bag, which is pretty compact

I bought this rucksack as a replacement to my 10yrs+ old Deuter. I did not fancy splashing out cash on Deuter again.Today, I have used the backpack for the first time, fully loaded. Two front pockets are so deep that I can fit in arm from fingers to an elbow. If you put small items inside these pockets all the items will end up at the bottom and when you have a fully loaded backpack ie the main compartment it's a pain to take items out of the is front additional pockets.The good: - the front side of the rucksack is made out of the material which justifies the purchase, the zips are indeed YKK and the work nicely.The bad: - The item that arrived does not match the pictures. The back system is totally different to the actual item. - The back support is not very stable, the plastic sheet that is inside of the rucksack is more flexible than my old Deuter. I thought, I could take out the plastic sheet out of Deuter and put it inside of the new rucksack. This is not possible. I wish there was a way to make it a bit more stiffer but there is none. - The foam strips which are supposed to allow the air to circulate behind your back (they call it airflow) are a gimmick which is not going to work. Why do I know it, my old Deuter has the same system and it does not work. The new rucksack is using even softer foam to fill in the back strips which squash under hardly any pressure. Imagine having a loaded rucksack on your back, its going to do nothing.- the support belt is not like in the picture, there is no zip pocket.and the ugly: - rucksack is not ugly it actually looks like a reasonably priced rucksack. No complaint about the look.Summary: mountaintop get the back of the rucksack sorted and it will be a good buy. Make it a touch stiffer and the foam at the back inside the strips a bit more firm.If you want a rucksack that does not cost too much and you are going to use it stuff that a more expensive rucksack would be a shame to use it, get this one.

Afternoon hike in Lake District - my back was sweating and the pack is in full contact with your back so became very uncomfortable, my old one had a frame and air mesh which keeps the pack off your back - I’ve gone back to the old one as far more comfortable!

Great weight and size but has a huge flaw. There is nowhere to put, say a mobile phone or wallet which is easy to get at - apart from the mesh bits (which are never a good idea as rain etc can be a huge problem.) This means if you drop your mobile into the large compartment it mat mean either, you don't actually hear your phone or when you try to get to it, it takes too long and you miss the call. OK so maybe this is no big deal as the pack is designed for travelling etc, and if this is not a problem than I can thoroughly recommend this backpack.The backpack is water resistant can is very comfortable to wear. The compartments are large and extremely useful - this is a bag for serious walkers/hikers/travellers.
