It turns on, but it simply does not pick up the resonance from my acoustic guitar. This one changes color back and forth when tuning from red to green and it make it harder to use. The color change is distracting and in fact, does not help in the tuning process... it gets in the way. I thought it might be helpful but after trying to use this one that does this, I find it to be very annoying and in fact harder to use the tuner because of it. If I had known this before hand I would have never bought this unit. Other than that, it is a great unit. Some people might like this feature but I hate it now that I have had a chance to use it. Maybe it is just me... but I do not think the color change is a good feature...on the contrary.
